Princess Eugenie gives royal fans glimpse inside Buckingham Palace on Instagram
Princess Eugenie gave royal fans a rare glimpse inside Buckingham Palace after sharing a snap of father Prince Andrew on Instagram.
The proud daughter praised her father for his role in Trooping the Colour over the weekend.
Alongside a picture of the uniformed prince standing in an ornate corridor, the 28-year-old royal wrote: "A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hehthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards.".
Saturday’s Trooping the Colour saw Prince Andrew, 58, ride out on the mall for the first time, alongside the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge and Princess Anne.
And he seemed more than happy to play his part, as he beamed at his daughter who captured him in full regalia and bearskins.
Many of Princess Eugenie’s 199,000 followers commented on how handsome Prince Andrew looked and praised her for publicly acknowledging his accomplishments.
Monica Campbell wrote: "Love this picture of your dad. So sweet to acknowledge his accomplishments."
The image was taken in a grand corridor inside the palace, adorned with huge paintings on the walls and ornate decorations.
One eagle-eyed royal fan commented on the picture nearest the Prince, reportedly showing Princess Maud of Wales, Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, at her wedding to Prince Carl of Denmark in 1896.
The couple went on to become King and Queen Consort of Norway.
Prince Eugenie and her father later joined the rest of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, waving to adoring crowds below as the day’s events came to a close.
Prince Andrew stood next to the Queen, a spot usually filled by the Duke of Edinburgh, who was absent from the day’s proceedings.
Last year, Buckingham Palace announced Andrew would take over as Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards from his father, who had held the role since 1975.
His appointment was officially marked by a parade at Windsor Castle in March.
Eugenie, who is marrying her fiance James Brookbank in October, regularly takes to Instagram to share moments of her life.
Recently she shared an image of her alongside her sister Beatrice and their parents Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York.
