Red-faced parents call firefighters after toddler gets stuck in their handcuffs

Red-faced parents were forced to call the fire service after their toddler son got stuck – in their handcuffs.

Firefighters based in Bedminster, Bristol were called to the unusual incident yesterday.

Crews had to use bolt cutters to free the five-year-old after he fastened the handcuffs around his ankles.

Posting on Twitter, Bedminster Fire Station said: "If you keep handcuffs in the house, keep hidden from children & remember where the key is!

"We attended a 5 year old who had them on his ankles..Crews used our pedal cutter & bolt croppers to release. #playtime #copsandrobbers."

Social media users were quick to comment on the situation.

One said: "Why on earth would anyone have handcuffs in a house?"
