Stimulus checks latest updates – How to claim a stimulus check if you haven't received Covid relief money

PRESIDENT Joe Biden is working on two stimulus proposals that could include more relief checks to Americans or cancel student loan debt.

The policy proposals currently focus on creating jobs and supporting families.

In his speech to the joint session of Congress last week, President Biden praised the impact of stimulus checks but did not comment on whether there would be more of them in the future.

"We kept our commitment — Democrats and Republicans — of sending $1,400 rescue checks to 85 percent of American households," Biden said. "For many people, it’s making all the difference in the world."

The IRS is still sending out the third round of stimulus checks, and many Democrats are pushing for more checks in the future.

The American Family Plan would set aside $1 trillion for education, affordable child care and paid family and medical leave. Some are keeping an eye on this plan to see if a fourth stimulus check is eventually included.

Biden's American Jobs Plan would inject $2 trillion into the US economy to create infrastructure jobs. There are no plans yet for it to include stimulus checks.

WILL THERE BE A FOURTH STIMULUS CHECK?

Although the IRS is still sending out third stimulus checks to some Americans, some people are wondering whether or not there will be a fourth stimulus payment.

"We've already sent more than 160 million checks out the door," Biden said in his joint address to Congress last week. "It's making a difference…For many people, it's making all the difference in the world."

But it's still unclear if more federal relief may be on the horizon.

However, support is growing among some politicians to send another round of checks out.

50 Democratic members of the house and 21 Democratic Senators signed a letter asking Biden to send out recurring stimulus payments until the end of the pandemic last month.

IRS STILL SENDING OUT THIRD ROUND OF STIMULUS CHECKS

If you have not yet received the latest $1,400 stimulus check payment, the IRS is recommending you file your tax returns before the May 17 federal tax filing deadline.

If the Service determines you're entitled to the stimulus money, you should still be able to claim it and receive it soon.

Americans who make $75,000 or less if filing as a single person — or $112,500 or less if filing as a head of household, or $150,000 if filing as married and jointly — should be eligible to receive a stimulus check.
