Trump breaks silence and announces to the world that he is ‘very clean’
Donald Trump told the world he is “essentially, very clean” as he insisted he has taken the cure for Covid-19 despite scientists saying there isn't one.
Speaking to Fox News on Thursday, the leader of the free world compared himself to Winston Churchill as he refused to say when he last tested for the virus.
Speaking on the phone from the White House, the 45th president said: “I’m essentially very clean, they say it’s over a period of six, seven days. You know, it is an amazing thing that happened to me.
“I just went in (to Walter Reed Medical Centre), I didn’t feel good, that’s ok. I expected it at some point because out there you’ve got to be a leader. Winston Churchill didn’t sit in his basement for six months. I have got a lot of things to be doing.”
Trump, who has returned to the Oval office only days after contracting Covid-19, refused to admit when he’d last had a test.
He then hailed an experimental concoction of treatments form pharmaceutical companies Eli Lilly and Regeneron for “curing” him.
Scientists have warned that a cure does not exist.
But the president said: “It’s a tiny, tiny, I liken it to a tiny, microscopic little piece of – and it gets into your nose or mouth or eye frankly, so you touch something. And then you get better.

“But whats happened, is the big thing that’s happened is, I call ’em cures. I don’t call ’em therapeutics. Between Eli Lilly and Regeneron, these are two different companies, you take it, it’s an antibody drug, and it beats the hell out of it.
“And I’m telling you, I could have walked out of there 24 hours after I went in. ‘I didn’t even have to go in, frankly, I think it would have gone away by itself.”
There is no cure for Covid-19.
The President, 74, has had no virus symptoms for more than 24 hours and has been fever free for more than four days, his doctor claimed.
Trump spent several days at Walter Reed national military medical centre where he underwent experimental drug treatments, with medicinal cocktails from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
A coronavirus outbreak among numerous figures in the president’s orbit has created an election issue for the Trump administration.
At least 27 people across the White House, election campaign and military leadership have tested positive for the virus.
