Trump mocks Joe Biden for awkward remark about young girls
President Trump on Wednesday piled on Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden for his awkward remark Monday about young girls.
“He’s been a wacko for years, and everyone knows it,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“The Lamestream Media is stuck with him and they are just now trying to clean up his act. Notice how all of the bad things, like his very low IQ, are no longer reported? Fake News!”
On Monday, Biden watched a performance by school-age children in Miami before telling them he looked forward to coming back and seeing the “beautiful young ladies” dancing in four years.
“I’m coming back, I’m coming back. And I want to see these beautiful young ladies, I want to see them dancing when they’re four years older, too,” Biden said.
The Biden campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Republican allies of Trump regularly circulate montages of the the former vice president whispering in the ears of women and girls and awkwardly placing his hands on them.
Trump nicknamed Biden “Sleepy Joe” after deciding against “Creepy Joe.” He said at a 2018 rally that didn’t want to “insult” Biden by calling him creepy.
Still, Republican activists showed up in Wilmington, Del., during the Democratic National Convention in August and chanted “creepy Joe has gotta go” as they passed around a cutout of Biden looming over their shoulders.
Trump currently is recovering from COVID-19 at the White House after three nights in the hospital. He said Tuesday that he intends to participate in the second scheduled presidential debate on Oct. 15 in Miami.
