When does the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial end?

THE world continues to watch as Hollywood's Johnny Depp and Amber Heard battle it out in court.

Both stars are accusing each other of domestic violence in a $100 million defamation suit. Here's everything you need to know.

When does the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial end?

The trial is now scheduled to conclude on Friday 27 May.

It was originally set to end last Thursday, but had to be extended as there was more evidence to be heard.

Once this has happened lawyers for both Depp and Heard will make their closing statements before the jury make their decision.

Why is Johnny Depp suing Amber Heard?

Depp's lawsuit comes after he suedhis former wife for defamation after she published an article in The Washington Post in 2018.

Heard did not name Depp in the article, but he claims it has cost him acting roles.

The trial has become a battleground over proving the truth about their relationship.

Heard and Depp's marriage lasted from 2015 to 2016. The Pirates of The Caribbean star filed his current defamation suit in 2019.

The famous trial is now over a month deep into testimony with the opening arguments beginning on April 12.

The two stars have been taking the stand before a seven-person jury in Fairfax County Circuit Court.

After Depp sued Heard, the Aquaman star has countersued her former husband for $100million.

During the trial, the Fantastic Beasts actor has insisted he was never abusive to Heard during their relationship and subsequent marriage.
