Woman, 51, arrested on suspicion of murdering husband found stabbed to death at Exmouth home
A 51-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her husband who was found stabbed to death at their home in Devon.
Emergency services were called to an address at Tennyson Way, Exmouth, at around 9pm on Sunday December 27.
A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops said the man had been stabbed and ambulance staff called the police when they arrived at the house.
Officers from the Major Crime Team were still gathering evidence and scenes of crime officers were also at the scene.
A court granted an extension to detain the woman on Tuesday at Exeter magistrates court.
A source said it was likely she will appear before the court on Wednesday.
The man's next-of-kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Emergency services were called to Tennyson Way at 9pm on Sunday, December 27.
"Police attended and a male was located. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"A female has been arrested.
"She was conveyed to custody at Exeter".
