Work for the Queen as letter writer – £23k salary and don’t need qualifications

The Queen is searching for someone to write letters for her – and you can bag a £23k salary and won't need any qualifications to apply for the role.

This royal role would not only allow you to work for her Majesty but you'd be potentially situated in the most glamorous and iconic offices in the world – Buckingham Palace.

The Royal Household receives thousands of letters every year from fans across the globe, and the Queen is seeking an "Assistant Correspondence Officer" to help answer all of them.

The household believes each of these letters deserves a thoughtful and timely response – which is what the job looks after.

The person who is lucky to take on the job will be able to answer the various and unique queries to the Queen, as well as fans who send general messages of good wishes.

The Job advert says the employee will help support the "important work of The Royal Household".

The job description states: “Every day you will respond to letters sent by the public in answer to various and often unique queries as well as general messages of good wishes.

“In this way, you will help to support the important work of The Royal Household.”

The job is full-time, at 37.5 hours a week on a fixed-term contract for a year – between February 2022 and February 2023.

There are no set or desired qualifications needed for applicants, but there is specific experience that people need to have.

Those interested need to have administrative experience and excellent written and communication skills due to the nature of the role.

You'll also need to be detail-focused and able to deal with a lot of correspondence.

Being able to draft letters, utilising computer skills, and meeting strict deadlines are also vital, and being able to work within a team.
