Alert your hairstylist: Daisy Edgar-Jones has just cut her hair into the perfect layered bob, and it’s the seasonal inspiration we needed. Celebrity hairstylist George Northwood, who has also worked with Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, debuted the actor’s new look on his Instagram page on Sept. 27. While her hair was the same bronde balayage she’s had for the past few months, with a few golden babylights woven throughout, Northwood chopped off most of the blond ends into a classic layered bob haircut. If fall was a hairstyle, this would be it.
Edgar-Jones’s hair has been a topic of conversation since the moment she shot to fame as Marianne Sheridan in “Normal People” in 2020. Just as Connell’s chain (the necklace worn by Paul Mescal throughout the miniseries) has a fan club in its own right, everybody was desperate to know how to get the “Daisy Fringe.” While the London-born star now admits that she enlisted the help of her roommate to cut her own fringe after losing out on an acting role before “Normal People,” it was reworked by hairstylist Sandra Kelly on the set of the series.
The actor has since switched up her hair color, cut, and style almost as often as she has adopted a new accent for a role. After wearing blond tips and a general American accent for her character in “Fresh” (in which she starred alongside Sebastian Stan), we saw Edgar-Jones take on a Southern American drawl and darker, longer brown hair for her role in “Where The Crawdads Sing”. She then returned to a warmer brunette with blond highlights and took on an Idaho accent to act opposite Andrew Garfield in “Under The Banner of Heaven.” Could this new autumnal bob signal a new project for Egdar-Jones? Only time will tell.
