Halloween costume and makeup buying can often be a time of wasteful, one-use purchases – but no more.
IT, otherwise known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown is Stephen King’s creation which preys upon children in Maine every 27 years.
The nightmarish creature uses its powers to shapeshift and remain detectable only to children.
The villain is the perfect Halloween look to recreate and not only do we have the know-how, but we also have some ethical products to complete your look.
The ‘Pennywise glam’ trend started with Sydney Purl’s easy tutorial – and is set to be one of the most popular go-to easy looks this Halloween with over 247.8million TikTok views of the term.
Sydney has given us last-minute Halloween queens the perfect step-by-step to looking scary but sexy and we can’t wait to try it.
Simply start by applying your usual foundation base with a dusting of blush across your cheeks.

Then take a red cream product – we recommend using the Ethique Poppy Satin Matte Lipstick in Ruby Red, because of its pigment – which you can apply directly onto your eyelids or with a brush.
You could also use the Tulip Satin Matte Lipstick in Deep Berry if you prefer a slightly deeper and darker colour.
Take it beneath your eyes as well then set it with a powder once it’s on your eyelids or you can leave it as just the cream product – it’s up to you.
Line your eyes with a black eyeliner and then add a healthy coating of mascara to your lashes.
Then apply the red lipstick to your lips after over-lining them to give a fuller effect, and also use the lipstick to draw a circle on the tip of your nose and fill it in.
Get a thin pointed makeup brush and take some red lipstick on it before drawing a curve out from the corner of your mouth then up to the centre of your eye.
Continue the line from your eyelid up above your eyebrow. Mirror this on the other side of your face.
Feel free to add a smattering of fake blood over the lines for a more sinister twist on the Halloween glam.
Sydney adds a little bit of white face paint to give the appearance of shine but this is also optional.
