Sydney Sweeney Perfectly Deconstructs the "Side-Tip" French Manicure

Sydney Sweeney is continuing to provide the beauty inspiration we need to get us through the rest of the summer — and in a vintage Mugler dress to boot. The “Euphoria” actor attended the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards on Aug. 13 looking timeless with a chic updo and smoky winged eyeliner, but our favorite part of her entire look was her playful rendition of the “side-tip” french manicure trend.

The nail look was created by Zola Ganzorigt — the celebrity nail artist responsible for the glazed-doughnut craze happening right now — who started by painting Sweeney’s nails a sheer pink color reminiscent of the ’90s supermodel manicure seen on stars like Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez. Instead of keeping with the minimal theme, she then added chunky green glitter flakes to a few accent nails in various positions that mimic the look of a side-tip french manicure.

This take on the classic french tip typically features straight lines drawn diagonally across the nail, running from one side to the center of the tip instead of horizontally at the tips. Sweeney’s version of the look distorts the line and instead uses the jagged edges of the glitter to give the illusion of the side tip. Because it’s all in the details, her nails perfectly matched her velvet green dress, making them the best accessory to her ensemble.
