Adele left blushing as she finally meets Dwayne The Rock Johnson at Grammys

As well as bagging the award for Best Pop Solo Performance, singer Adele received another surprise at Saturday night's GRAMMYs, after three-time host Trevor Noah introduced her to much-loved movie icon, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

While meandering through the crowd of big names at the 65th annual ceremony during his opening monologue, the South African-born comedian, 38, greeted 34-year-old Adele's table with the intention of making a long overdue introduction.

He teased viewers around the world: "The person that Adele has always wanted to meet is Dwayne Johnson… I found out he’s a huge fan of yours, too."

Joking that he didn't have actor Dwayne Johnson with him "here tonight", Noah revealed to the 15-time Grammy-award winner that had "someone called The Rock" with him, referencing the star's wrestling title.

Visibly in shock, the 'Hello' hitmaker quickly grabbed boyfriend Rich Paul's shoulder and stood up as The Rock was in fact there, and Adele couldn't wait to receive a cosy hug from the US star, 50.

The new pals greeted each other with a kiss on each cheek, with Adele being left blushing and beaming, and the sweet moment immediately went viral on social media following the singer's decision to skip the red carpet.

"You two get acquainted, we gotta keep the show moving!" presenter Trevor mocked.

British music legend Adele had previously admitted she'd "actually cry" if given the opportunity to meet wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne in real life.

She told Nikkie de Jager in December 2021: "I was the biggest wrestling fan when I was younger."

Adele also claimed that Hollywood stuntman 'The Rock' had once sent a beautiful bouqeut of flowers to her after attending one of her concerts, with the singer admitting she "literally fell off" her chair.

"He's amazing," she told YouTuber Nikkie. "He's just incredible. I just want him to be my mate. I want him to be my friend."

Adele also told viewers that Dwanye's wife of almost four years, Lauren Hashian, had also previously attended at least one of her worldwide tour dates.

The star who donned an incredible velvet maroon Louis Vuitton gown, was nominated for an impressive seven awards at Saturday Night's Los Angeles ceremony, including Record, Song, and Album Of The Year.

But despite winning Best Pop Solo Performance for her chart-topper Easy On Me – which was presented to her by new pal Dwayne – it was her fellow music-makers that stole the show at this year's GRAMMYs.

And doing it for the Adele's fellow Brits this year were Harry Styles, who walked away with three awards, Sam Smith, who nabbed Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their 2022 hit, Unholy, and metal singer Ozzy Osbourne, who bagged two accolades.

And her fellow female history maker Beyoncé last night broke the record for the all-time wins – having been nominated in nine categories this year and accumulating 32 Grammy awards in total.
