Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are spotted out with four of their seven children in New York as the actor prepares to resume filming Rust after shooting case

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin were spotted out with their children in New York on Tuesday – as the actor prepares to resume filming Rust after the shooting case.   

The actor, 65, and his wife, 39, took four of their seven kids to Washington Square Park near their home in Manhattan and appeared to be trying to enjoy some normality. 

Production of Rust stopped abruptly in October 2021 when a prop gun held by Baldwin fired a live round that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the movie’s New Mexico set.

In January, Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armourer, were charged with involuntary manslaughter – though he has since vowed to fight the charges, calling them a ‘terrible miscarriage of justice’.  

Despite ongoing legal battles, on Tuesday a spokesperson for Rust Movie Productions told CNN filming will continue at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana.

And going for a stroll on Tuesday, Alec wore all black as he recuperated by spending time with his family ahead of resuming production. 

Hilaria also opted for a casual look in jeans and a red top, while their kids looked adorable in fluffy coats and a pom-pom teddy bear hat.  

The couple share Rafael, seven, Leonardo, six, Romeo, four, and Eduardo, two – and three daughters – Carmen, nine, Maria, two, and the newest member to join the family, Ilaria, six months. 

Alec is also father to Ireland Baldwin, who he shares with his ex-wife Kim Basinger. Ireland is currently expecting to welcome her first child. 

Hilaria previously said of the shooting tragedy in January: ‘We can’t be okay. No one is okay. 

‘It was and is a tragedy that nobody could ever have imagined,’ she told Extra.  

Earlier in the year it was announced that Baldwin would remain in the lead role and that a successor cinematographer to Hutchins would be appointed.

It was also said filming would not be completed on the original set at Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico.

Director Joel Souza, who was injured by the same bullet that killed Hutchins, will also return to finish the project, CNN reported. 

Alec and Gutierrez-Reed are facing a maximum of 18 months in prison if convicted of involuntary manslaughter. 

Prosecutors allege Baldwin pulled the trigger of the gun that killed Hutchins while Gutierrez-Reed failed to ensure it was unloaded. 

In April Alec and Hilaria paid tribute to one another on the 11th anniversary of their engagement.

Hilaria snapped a selfie of pair standing in an elevator, seemingly en route to celebrate, revealing in the caption of the photo that they ‘got engaged 11 years ago, today.’

For his celebratory message of love, Alec summed up his growing family life with his wife with a few sentences.

‘Eleven years ago today, I got engaged to a wonderful human being. She’s under this pile somewhere,’ he wrote, in a reference to the picture showing Hilaria laying on the floor of their home with several of their children surrounding her.

Tribute: In October, on the one-year anniversary since Hutchins’s death, the 30 Rock actor shared a tribute to the late cinematographer on his Instagram

And about seven weeks ago, the Yoga instructor, podcaster and author marked the 12-year anniversary of the day she and Alec met.

It turns out they first locked eyes at Sarma Melngailis’ New York restaurant Pure Food and Wine on February 18, 2011.

The Baldwins will celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary on June 30.
