Alesha Dixon heartbroken as beloved dog Daisy dies after 13 years
Alesha Dixon has shared the sad news that her beloved dog Daisy has died aged 13.
Taking to Instagram to announce that she’d passed away, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha shared a selfie with her late dog and some throwback snaps of Daisy when she was a puppy.
Alesha, 43, wrote alongside the photos: “I will love you forever Daisy,” followed by a string of emojis.
She also took to her Stories to post a photo of a young Daisy, writing: “13 years of loving you. My beautiful Daisy”.
Alesha’s 1.1 million Instagram followers have since rushed to share their condolences.
“So sorry honey. Sending you all the love,” wrote one friend, as someone else penned: “Sending loads of love alesha . She's a gorgeous dog she adored all of you and the girls having fun and playing”.
“I’m so sorry,” said another, as dozens of others sent their love to Alesha and her family.
Losing a pet is never easy, and celebs like Alesha often take to social media to announce the passing of their furry friends.
Someone who recently lost their dog was Alan Carr and his estranged husband Paul Drayton.
The TV presenter and his ex-partner Paul shared the news on social media that they had made the “hardest decision” to end Bev’s life.
Together the pair had two Irish red Setters called Bev and Joyce who became stars themselves when they appeared on Hollyoaks with Alan in a cameo.
Paul described ending Bev’s life an “act of love” and said the beloved pet was “the best companion”.
He wrote on Instagram: “It is with a heavy broken heart that myself and Alan @chattyman had to make the hardest decision to make our last act of love and let our Bev go.
“She has been the best companion I could have hoped for. She has been my rock and saviour on many many occasions and I cannot begin to tell you how much we will miss her."
Meanwhile, Louise Redknapp’s pooch Blu passed away in February.
Sharing a string of photos of her Shar-Pei, Louise revealed: "I am absolutely heartbroken that we had to say goodbye to our little girl Blu early this morning" followed by a broken heart emoji.
She then addressed her pup directly as she wrote to Blu: "I am going to miss you so much my darling girl your escaping through the fence, chasing the squirrels out of the garden, our long walks in the woods watching you run carefree, going upstairs when we say ‘bed time’ and getting on mummy’s bed instead of in your own and most of all your kisses and cuddles every day."
