Ashley Cain pays emotional tribute to late daughter Azaylia on what would’ve been 2nd birthday
Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee have paid tribute to their late daughter Azaylia on what would have been her second birthday.
The Ex On The Beach star, 31, and his former partner Safiyya, 33, were left devastated when their little girl lost her battle with acute myeloid leukaemia at eight months old on 25 April 2021.
Azaylia would have turned two on 10 August and despite the grief they feel about their baby girl, her parents have now each taken to their Instagram pages to celebrate the day.
Posting a snap of a birthday card that featured an illustration of little Azaylia with a hand on a lion next to her as a number two balloon floated up in the air, Ashley wrote: "Happy Heavenly 2nd Birthday Azaylia," with an angel emoji.
He continued: "I Love You I Long For You," followed by a red heart emoji and a broken heart emoji.
Ashley, who recently ran 100 miles to mark one year since Azaylia's tragic death, finished this message by adding: "My angel, my life, my entire world, you're the one that I want, the one that I need, please be with me always, my love, my everything – Azaylia Diamond Cain," with a white heart emoji.
He followed this with several pictures of himself leaning in to kiss his little girl before posting a clip of Azaylia in a hospital bed as he told her he loves her.
"Be an Angel to someone else whenever you can, as a way of thanking God for the help your Angel has given you," he wrote. "May you believe that you always have an angel by your side. Happy Birthday Azaylia I Love you".
Meanwhile, Safiyya also took to her Instagram feed to post several snaps of Azaylia, which she captioned: "Heavenly 2nd birthday for my beautiful daughter Azaylia".
She then spoke of the moment she gave birth to her little girl, explaining that while the labour was painful, the emergency C-section was "worth it".
"you are the best gift god could of given me,when I saw you I was so excited to finally be a mummy to you, I miss you deeply this pain I fight through, it’s your strength you’ve given me that can allow me to stay here on earth to continue your legacy, I will always love you, u may be in heaven and I maybe on earth but we are always connected ALWAYS," she continued.
She added: "Azaylia I wish you was here on earth to celebrate this birthday i no your watching from heaven and I hope you no how much I love you," with an orange heart emoji. "Happy birthday Princess".
Safiyya also posted a clip of herself with Ashley during the labour, waiting for their little one's arrival two years prior.
Opening up on those moments ahead of her birth, the grieving mum said: "my heart fills I smile and then it shatters me at the same time watching this video".
Ashley and Safiyya later took to their Instagram stories to share clips of their daughter's grave, which they decorated with photos, flowers, lion toys and banners.
They put books and toys across the floor and enjoyed a picnic in her honour, celebrating what would've been her birthday.
