Ashton Kutcher apologises to Harry Styles over karaoke blunder: Im sorry!
Ashton Kutcher has looked back on the time he crossed paths with singing sensation Harry Styles – but the actor admitted he didn't realise it was the former One Direction star at first.
Ashton, 44, explained that he and his wife Mila Kunis, 39, attended a neighbour's karaoke party some time ago, which also saw Harry, 29, attend the event.
And after Harry got up to sing an ABBA hit, the couple approached the star to tell him how good he was on stage, without realising he was in fact, Harry Styles.
Ashton explained in a video with Esquire: "And then this other kid gets up, and he does this ABBA song… I'm like, 'Oh my god. It's bananas.' So this kid gets off stage, and Mila [Kunis] and I go up to him.
"We're like, 'Man, I got to tell you something, you're a ringer. You're like a karaoke ringer. You're really good.'"
He revealed Harry's response: "He goes, 'Thanks, man, thank you. I really appreciate that.'"
Ashton then revealed he discovered who the mystery singer was, with Mila telling him that he is a professional singer from One Direction.
He shared: "So we go to our friend and we go, 'God, that guy was really good, huh?' And he's like, 'It's Harry Styles.' And I was like, 'Who's that?' Mila's like, 'It's the guy in the boy band. He's a professional singer.'"
Looking back, Ashton said: "Oh my god, now I feel like a jerk. He's a professional singer. And we're trying to tell him he's a good singer.
"And I like feel so dumb. So I just really want to say, 'I'm sorry Harry Styles, but you're really good at karaoke, man. Seriously, like really good.'"
Ashton is currently starring in the sitcom series That 90s Show – a sequel to That 70's Show – where he first found love with Mila earlier on in their careers.
Ashton portrayed the character Michael Kelso, while Mila starred as Jackie Burkhart – and the star revealed Mila was the one to encourage him to agree to join the cast of the new series with her.
The star – who is dad to Wyatt, eight, and six year old Dimitri with Mila – told the MailOnline: "[She] goes, "You know, we owe our entire careers to this show. It doesn't matter what the script is, we're doing it."'
The programme features the couple's characters while mirroring their married lives with the show being set in 1995.
Film and TV star Mila previously spoke of how "weird" it is that she and Ashton's characters are together in the series, as she didn't expect them to be when she filmed the original show in 1998.
She said: "My husband and I are together in [the new show], which is weird because we shouldn't have been. You know what, I called B.S. I was like, 'My character would be with Fez.' I think that I ended up with Wilmer [Valderrama]'s character.
"And I was like [to Ashton], 'Why are you and I together?'"
