Avril Lavigne and Tyga ‘split’ after four months together

It seems that Avril Lavigne and Tyga's whirlwind romance has come to an end, just four months after they made their relationship public.

The 38-year-old rocker and the 33-year-old rapper, who were first spotted together at Nobu Malibu in February, have reportedly decided to part ways a few weeks ago. However, there's no drama to be found as TMZ reports that the split was a mutual decision, with no lingering animosity between the two stars.

Despite their affectionate public outings during their time together, it appears that their relationship had run its natural course. The Complicated singer was first spotted spending time with Tyga as early as February and the pair didn't shy away from displaying their affection, as they were even caught sharing a kiss on camera.

They were then spotted enjoying time together in Los Angeles after attending a number of parties together during Paris Fashion Week. Avril also shared a number of snaps with the rapper while on the European leg of her recent Love Sux tour, spending time with him while offstage.

The timing of their hangouts raised eyebrows, as it came shortly after her engagement to musician Mod Sun came to an end in February. Mod Sun posted a statement addressing the news on his Instagram page days later, as he wrote: "In 1 week my entire life completely changed.

“I just know there’s a plan for it all," the rapper, whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith, continued. "I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

"Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing.

"I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage," the star added.

The emotional statement came after Mod Sun's representatives initially claimed he had been blindsided by the break-up and had left for tour still believing he and Avril were together.

Avril's team have confirmed that the couple did break up, but the star has declined to give her own statement. Avril was spotted on a friendly night out with Tyga as the news broke, though they were reported to have been pals for some time.

Aside from the rapper, Avril has had her fair share of high-profile relationships in the past. She divorced Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in 2015 after a two-year marriage, following her divorce from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2010, which marked the end of their three-year marriage.

Tyga, on the other hand, has also had his own share of notable relationships. He famously dated Kylie Jenner when she was just 16 years old. The rapper is also father to 10 year old King Cairo Stevenson, from his previous relationship with ex-fiancée Blac Chyna. Their nearly three-year relationship came to an end in 2014.
