The Kansas-born musician, who has been dating his girlfriend since 2015, pops the big question at Radio City Music Hall in front of his bandmates Logan Henderson, Carlos PenaVega and James Maslow.
AceShowbiz -Congratulations are in order for Kendall Schmidt and Mica von Turkovich. On Thursday, June 30, the Big Time Rush star informed his social media followers that he has gotten engaged to his longtime girlfriend after years of dating.
Taking to Instagram, the 31-year-old heartthrob unleashed a photo of the sweet proposal which saw him getting down on his knee. His fiancee, in the meantime, looked shocked as she covered her mouth. In the caption of the post, he simply penned, “My heart and soul. I’ll love you forever. @mica_chu.”
PEOPLE reported that the musician popped the big question to his partner on Wednesday night at Radio City Music Hall, where they first met. His bandmates Logan Henderson, Carlos PenaVega and James Maslow were also present.
Schmidt and Turkovich met in 2012 at one of his band’s concerts at the venue. At that time, she was working as a nanny in New York City. Having been friends for years, they finally became a couple in 2015.
Schmidt has never shied away from showing love to Turkovich online. Back in July 2018, the “Memories & Melodies” crooner offered a heartfelt birthday tribute to his lady. Sharing on Instagram a photo of Turkovich, he first gushed, “It’s this beautiful soul’s birthday.”
“Any description of how @mica_chu has changed my life would be an understatement. It’s been a pleasure to be with her as the days go by,” the Kansas-born artist added. “I envy the way she sees things. Her true purpose is to make a meaningful difference in the world and I know that’s exactly what she’s going to do.”
She gives me a reason to be the best man I can be. And in turn, I do everything in my power to be everything she deserves,” Schmidt further raved. “#25 #HappyBirthday. Love you Micaela!”
