The Australian sisters behind Booby Tape, Bianca and Bridgett Roccisano, have opened up about their incredible journey from being broke stylists struggling to pay for petrol, to running a multimillion-dollar beauty empire.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the pair discussed their lavish lifestyles, plans to take over America and Europe, and the sexism they have experienced navigating the business world.
They also touched upon recent controversy over the safety of Booby Tape, after angry customers complained the product left them with painful breast injuries, with the sisters insisting this only happens when you don’t follow the safe removal steps.

Their must-have beauty item, which is sold in more than 50 countries, has been the subject of several complaints on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram, with some users of the ‘breast lift in a box’ claiming to have suffered torn skin and infection.
‘It’s like any other product: we just say follow the instructions,’ Bridgett said.
‘We’re always trying to keep everyone aware [of] how to remove it, make sure you don’t wear it for too long, don’t sleep in it, all those things,’ she added.
Bianca also stressed that only an ‘incredibly small percentage’ of customers have had a bad experience with the product.
The Melbourne sisters became self-made millionaires after launching their $21.95 breast tape which promises to ‘lift any size bust’ in 2018.
The TikTok complaints were a small setback for the Roccisano sisters, who have now moved on from the controversy and are looking to the future, which includes taking on America.

The pair, who started out as celebrity stylists in Melbourne in 2010, spoke of how they went from being broke students putting ‘$5 worth of fuel’ a Volkswagen Jetta to becoming multimillionaires.
‘We were totally broke,’ said Bianca, who studied law at university.
‘Bridgett and I sat down and I was like, “We’re not doing it anymore. We need to support ourselves. We have no money, so what business could we start?”‘

Their business journey began with the launch of clothing label Bianca and Bridgett, which was followed by Booby Tape, which now has an annual turnover of $10million.
Bridgett said the idea for Booby Tape came from the sisters being ‘both large-busted women’ who would sometimes ‘restrict’ their wardrobe out of necessity.
‘I remember going to the races one year and I wanted to wear this low-cut, backless dress and I couldn’t do it because I would have to wear a bra for support,’ she said.

Bridgett started using electrical tape and duct tape before trying to find a breast-specific tape, only to realise there wasn’t one on the market.
‘I jumped on the computer, searched it, and no such thing existed. Then Bianca was like, “I don’t believe that,” so we searched it and decided something needs to be done,’ she added.
Their simple idea snowballed into a multimillion-dollar business empire, which has culminated in the sisters celebrating their success with a $700,000 party in LA.
The event was to launch their Stas x Booby Tape Illuminating Bronzer, in partnership with American influencer Stassie Karanikolaou, who is friends with Kylie Jenner.

The party was attended by the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio and Charli D’Amelio, and featured performances by YG and Bia.
Bianca now counts Alessandra, Adriana Lima and Rita Ora as pals. The two sisters are also friends with Victoria’s Secret model, Shanina Shaik.
‘You obviously pay talent to come [to your party]. They’re paid to come for 20 minutes, but when they stay for five hours, you know you’ve done a great job,’ she said.

Despite their enormous success, the ladies still describe themselves as ‘fugal’ and say their only big expenditures have been Cartier jewellery and matching Range Rovers.
‘All we wanted was a Cartier Love Bracelet,’ Bianca said. ‘So we made this rule that we were going to treat ourselves when we turned over our first million dollars.’
Cartier Love Bracelets cost between $6,000 and $10,000.
‘We had forgotten but one day when we were at work, I was like, “Bridgett, we’re going straight to Cartier. Remember the deal we made?”‘

Bianca and Bridgett also spoke of the sexism they’d encountered in the male-dominated business world.
‘Absolutely, we’ve faced it,’ Bianca said, adding that ‘people assume we must be stupid’ because of their glamorous public image.
They said they’d had men try to ‘stand over us’ when negotiating deals for factory space, with Bridgett remarking: ‘Every day it’s just something else.’
‘What we have had to go through, it’s been incredibly tough as women,’ Bianca said.

The two women have now started a consulting company to help other women become entrepreneurs. ‘We want everyone to do well,’ Bianca added.
The business-savvy sisters have also just inked deals to stock Booby Tape in Germany, the United States and South Africa.
‘We’re going into a lot of the major stores in the United States, so Booby Tape is going to have a rapid expansion in the next year,’ Bianca said.
‘We have just done a major deal for all of Germany. So there’s about 7,000 stores that Booby Tape is going into there as we speak.
‘We’ve also done Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Middle East, and we did 1,000 stores in South Africa today.’
The sisters know the bigger they grow, the more work it becomes for them.
‘Bridgett and I are insanely busy. In our business, we work across multiple time zones, so we will wake-up at about 5am,’ Bianca said.
‘We’re already waking up to emails and phone calls.’
