Boyband dancers crushed when huge screen fell on them in front of 12,000 people
There was horror in Hong Kong this week as two dancers were crushed by a giant screen which fell during a concert.
Popular Cantopop group Mirror were performing at Hong Kong’s iconic Coliseum venue, which can hold up to 12,500 spectators, when the incident occurred.
The 12-member band were coming close to the end of their set when, at about 10.30pm local time, a giant screen fell on to the stage.
It’s understood the screen – measuring 16 by 10 feet – fell when one of two metal wires holding it up snapped.
The graphic incident was captured on video, with a clip showing the band and their dancers on stage when, out of nowhere, one of the giant screens collapses to the ground.
Fans can be heard screaming in horror as two people become trapped under the screen, before the video quickly cuts out.

As reported by the South China Morning Post, two men aged 27 and 29 were immediately rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong for treatment for their injuries.
They were first treated at the scene of the accident, with a photograph showing paramedics on stage as the venue remains packed with fans.
One man is reported to be in intensive care with serious neck injuries, while the second is believed to be in a stable condition, though has suffered head injuries from the incident.
One of the dancer’s family have travelled from Canada to be with their loved one as he recovers.
The concert was cut short following the serious accident, and the remaining performances in the Coliseum have been cancelled, with refunds offered to ticket-holders.
Hong Kong government officials had reportedly ordered a review into the safety features of the set-up just one day before the incident.
Hong Kong chief executive John Lee Ka-chiu said he was ‘shocked’ at the incident and expressed his ‘sympathy’ to all those affected.
He has now ordered a full investigation into how the accident happened, saying ‘high-level’ officials will be involved in the investigation.
Culture Secretary Kevin Yeung Yun-Hung explained the investigation will determine how the suspension wire snapped.
He insisted it was the government’s ‘responsibility and determination to ensure a similar incident will not happen again.’
Boyband Mirror were in the middle of a planned 12-night residency at the Coliseum, with the accident happening during their fourth day at the venue.
The remaining eight nights have now been cancelled, with fans offered refunds for their tickets.
