Brad Pitt dishes on days-long sex scene shoot with Geena Davis, plus more news
Brad Pitt opens up about that smoking hot ‘Thelma & Louise’ love scene
Brad Pitt still has a soft spot for Geena Davis, his onscreen love interest in “Thelma & Louise.” While he filmed his first professional love scene for the show, “Dallas” — “I don’t think I had a line,” Brad recalls in a new interview with W Magazine, “I was just rolling and frolicking” — working with Geena to create their now-famous boudoir moments clearly left an impression on the star. “Yeah, that was my entry into the big leagues, I guess. Geena was so sweet and kind and delicate,” Brad says. “That love scene, I think, went on for two days of shooting. She took care of me.” Brad also reveals he’s among the many celebs who’s crashed a wedding party just for kicks. “It was on the set of ‘Mr. & Mrs. [Smith],'” the Oscar winner tells W. “We were filming down in this Deco building downtown, and up in the penthouse above, we kept seeing people going up and down. It was a wedding party, so I crashed it.” Laughing, he adds that the hosts “were OK with” the party crashing.

Mel Gibson removed as Mardi Gras parade Grand Marshal amid backlash, threats
Over the weekend, one of New Orleans’ largest Carnival parade organizations announced Mel Gibson would ride in its 2023 parade as a Grand Marshall, an honorary, high-profile position generally reserved for celebrities. Less than 24 hours later, however, the krewe of Endymion removed the controversial star from its parade plans for Feb. 18, citing public backlash over Mel’s history of antisemitic remarks, racist slurs and other offensive language. The krewe’s about-face came on Sunday (Jan. 8), when the group reportedly deleted its initial social media announcement about Mel’s participation and said it had received negative feedback including concerning “threats” to the safety of riders and parade-goers.
“Our inclusion of Mr. Gibson was meant to be in recognition of his acting career and was in no way meant to give credence to his statements otherwise. We regret this incident and will do better in the future,” krewe president Dan Kelly told Nola.com in an email. He also told the outlet the krewe will review its process for picking Grand Marshalls.
Mel, who was raised in the conservative Sedevacantist traditionalist Catholic church, has apologized for some of his well-documented offensive moments, including the antisemitic rant he aimed at a police officer in 2006 and the homophobic comments he made during a 1991 interview with El Pais. In 2010, Mel was ordered to stay away from his former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, after he was recorded threatening her and using a racial slur in a phone call.

Hailey Bieber talks anxiety, PTSD after mini-stroke
Hailey Bieber says she suffered anxiety and PTSD after recovering from a “mini-stroke” in March 2022. The model reflected on her health scare in a recent edition of “The Run-Through With Vogue” podcast, sharing some of the mental and emotional side effects of her bout with the stroke. Technically called a transient ischemic attack, what happened to Hailey was caused by a blood clot in her brain that led to numbness in one arm, facial drooping and slurred speech. “I struggled with a lot of anxiety after,” Hailey said on the podcast, which was reportedly recorded at the same location where she suffered the attack last year. “I struggled with a little bit of PTSD of just, like, the fear of maybe it was gonna happen again. … It was so terrifying, so jarring, so discombobulating in every single way that you could imagine,” she admitted. “Even the first couple of times coming back here after was a little bit of a strange, triggering kind of feeling for me because you just remember exactly how everything happened in that moment.” Hailey added that she remains “grateful” to have had “amazing doctors and nurses” who helped her “get to the bottom of what actually happened.”
Bob Saget’s wife, former co-stars mark one year since his death
Kelly Rizzo is still adjusting to the “surreal-ness” of life without Bob Saget. “How could I not have talked to or seen my loving husband in a whole year?” Kelly, 43, shared on Instagram on Monday (Jan. 9), the first anniversary of the comic’s unexpected death. “The surreal-ness never subsides,” she continued. “I’ve accepted the reality long ago but it still seems unreal when I see photos or videos of him so full of life. But there is one thing I carry with me every single day that makes this survivable. I AM THE LUCKIEST.” She went on to detail her good fortune of having been able to “live with his warmth, and laughter, and brilliance, and love,” and to “have his girls” — daughters Aubrey, 36, Lara, 33, and Jennifer, 30 — “by my side.”
“Some people can live 1,000 lifetimes and never live a life as fully as he did. And to that I have to say, Well Done. You really won life, honey. And that is why I will be forever grateful for him and all the endless love he gave me, until my last day.”
A number of the actor’s former “Full House” co-stars marked the sad anniversary as well. “At some point today, I’ll think about how much I miss him and I’ll shed some tears,” Dave Coulier posted. “Then I’ll hear Bob’s voice, and it’ll make me laugh.”
Bob was 65 when he was found dead in his hotel room in Florida on Jan. 9, 2022. Authorities later determined he’d suffered a head trauma prior to falling asleep.
Colin Farrell shares Jeremy Renner recovery update
Colin Farrell says he’s spoken to his former “S.W.A.T.” co-star and longtime friend, Jeremy Renner, as he continues to recover from a life-threatening snow plow accident on New Year’s Day. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala in New York City on Sunday (Jan. 8), Colin said he’s “been in touch” with Jeremy since the “Hawkeye” actor was crushed by a 14,000-pound snow plow in Reno, Nevada, while trying to get back into the driver’s seat. “He’s doing good, I believe,” said Colin, who earned a Best Actor award at the gala for his work on “The Banshees of Inisherin.” “All prayers are with him.” According to Reno police, Jeremy had been plowing a private driveway when he stopped to talk to a family member. The plow, a Snowcat, reportedly began rolling away without the actor in it. He was crushed while trying to get back into the driver’s seat, police said last week. Jeremy, meanwhile, celebrated his 52nd birthday on Saturday in the hospital where he’s already undergone two surgeries. Thanking fans and colleagues for their birthday wishes on Instagram, Jeremy wrote, “You’ve made my spirits sing!!!!”
