Britney Spears has paid lawyer Mathew Rosengart more than $4.2 million
Revealed: Britney Spears has paid lawyer Mathew Rosengart’s law firm ‘almost $6 MILLION in legal fees’ – causing her team to become ‘agitated’
Britney Spears has shelled out millions for the legal counsel of lawyer Mathew Rosengart – the man who is credited as helping the pop singer breakout free of her controversial conservatorship.
The 41-year-old pop star is said to have paid Rosengart’s firm a staggering $4,201,856 between November 2021 and March 2023, according to TMZ.
Sources told the publication that ‘members of her team became agitated enough’ and that going forward, Rosengart has now agreed to work with Spears ‘pro bono’ – without further charges.
The sky-high $4 million plus bill was mostly for work performed after the music artist’s infamous 13-year conservatorship ended.
However, insiders clarified that the figure only accounts for a portion of what Britney has paid the firm, and the total is actually closer to $6 million.

After Britney’s team confronted the lawyer over his fees, he agreed to work pro bono for the rest of the case against Britney’s father Jamie Spears.
In addition to the case against Jamie, Rosengart was instrumental in ending the conservatorship, and has provided legal services for music, her book and other matters.
Rosengart has reportedly been ‘critical’ of fees paid to other lawyers involved with the conservatorship.
Per documents filed by Rosengart, dozens of attorneys in the case made more than $30 million combined.
Britney was worth $60 million when the guardianship ended and now is worth much less.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Britney’s tell-all autobiography was being delayed over concerns about her relationships with two A-list stars.
One of them is said to be actor Colin Farrell, with whom Britney had a fling in 2003.
The mother-of-two signed a $15 million deal with Simon & Schuster for the memoir in February 2022.

Sources claim the book will reveal that Farrell upset Spears when he reportedly sent her a bumper sticker that read, ‘Honk If You’ve Slept With Colin Farrell.’
Farrell – who was one of Hollywood’s brightest rising stars in the early 2000s and had a notorious ‘bad boy’ reputation at the time – reportedly tried to make peace with Spears, admitting he was ‘wild’ during the early Aughts.
It’s unclear if he ever admitted to sending the rumored bumper sticker.
‘Britney has worked her way through the extraordinarily emotional challenges and troubles of her life in the 2000s for the book,’ a source said.
‘Those were especially tough recollections and challenging days to cover those experiences. But during those heady days, Britney also had many other adventures as a single woman, including that experience with Colin,’ the insider added.
‘And she is keen to get her time with Colin laid down on paper and presented from her perspective. She has been wanting to set the record straight for a long time,’ the person explained.
The source added that Farrell ‘was the hottest young actor in Hollywood, and she was swept away by the romance of him taking a shine to her.’

‘People forget that then she was not that experienced with boys or the dating game, so when they had their fling, she was taken aback by how nonchalant and disconnected he was,’ the source said.
The unnamed source added that Spears was, ‘shocked’ that Farrell treated, ‘it all like a joke,’ adding, ‘when the car sticker came through, she was deeply annoyed and also angered. She hated the fact that some people were laughing at her.’
The source added that, ‘Colin did try and make peace later, trying to explain his over-the-top behavior was down to his own life issues and battles with drugs and temptation. But Britney will get the final word.’
Farrell has since come clean with his substance abuse problems, confessing to Ireland’s Late Show, ‘I had high tolerance for various drugs for years.’
