B*Witched’s Edele Lynch looks unrecognisable from 90’s heyday at Netflix premiere
Star of the 90's pop band, B*Witched and one half of the twins, Edele Lynch was joined by S Club 7's Hannah Spearritt, Blue's Simon Webbe, Northern Line's Dan Corsi and 911's Lee Brennan in London this week.
Edele, 42, who was the lead singer of B*Witched in which she performed with her twin sister Keavy Lynch, Sinéad O'Carroll and Lindsay Armaou – who fans spotted starring in a Netflix series earlier this year.
The band split in 2002 and Edele looked very different from her denim-loving pop star persona and she arrived for the premiere of I Used To Be Famous sporting new blonde hair.
The Irish singer wore a patterned blazer with her blue jeans, instead of her usual denim jacket to create the double-denim look for which B*witched became synonymous, as well as black heeled boots.
B*Witched shot to fame in 1998 with the catchy number 1 record, C'est La Vie earning the girls success around the world. And follow-up singles Rollercoaster, Blame It On The Weatherman and To You I Belong also reached went to number 1.
Edele remained in the music business after the band were dropped in 2002 and co-wrote Some Kind Of Miracle for Girls Aloud's debut album Sound of the Underground, and as well as songs for the Sugababes.
The 90's singer and her sister Keavy performed together as a duo from 2009 until 2012, going by the names Ms Lynch and later the Barbarellas. They have an older brother, Shane Lynch who is part of boyband Boyzone.
Edele's Instagram shows she is still friends with her bandmates and also reveals she still hangs out with some of other 90s groups such as Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon
As well as song writing, in recent times Edele got herself an admin job to make extra money during the pandemic.
"We literally have nothing on the go and no support at all in our industry. I have three children and so I have to be realistic and bring some kind of pennies through the door," she said of her decision to take on extra work.
