Charles and William greet stunned mourners queuing to see Queen Lying-in-State

King Charles III and William, the Prince of Wales have surprised mourners queuing to see the Queen Lying-in-State in Westminster Hall as they greeted them.

Members of the public have been queuing for up to 24 hours to pay their respects to the late Monarch who passed away aged 96 on Thursday, 8 September.

King Charles and Prince William shook hands with well-wishers queuing at Albert Embankment near Lambeth Palace and spent time chatting to them.

Many took photographs and pressed against the metal barriers, eager to exchange a word with the King and the heir to the throne.

Several also shouted “God Save the King” and “God Save the Prince of Wales” as each passed by.
