Cheryl to 'make revealing documentary' about her rollercoaster life

‘She wants to tell her own side of the story’: Cheryl ‘in talks to make revealing documentary about her rollercoaster life that will likely lead to TV bidding war’

Cheryl is in talks to make a revealing documentary about her life to coincide with her 40th birthday, it’s been reported.

The former pop singer is believed to be following in the footsteps of Ed Sheeran and Beyonce and is now in talks with a production company.

Twice married Cheryl first found fame in Girls Aloud before becoming a household name as a judge on the X Factor, later welcoming son Bear with One Direction’s Liam Payne, 29, and acting on the West End stage.

A source told The Sun: ‘There’s been a long line of other stars who’ve done the same, relishing the rare chance to give their side of the story in their own words’.

‘But Cheryl will only go ahead if she’s completely comfortable with what approach they’ll take and her level of input’.

‘It’s too soon to say which broadcaster would most likely air the show, but with competition between terrestrial channels and streamers stronger than ever it would likely spark a bidding battle.’

MailOnline have contacted Cheryl’s reps for comment.

She was married to footballer Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010 followed by restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini 2014-2016.

Cheryl was said to have split from Liam Payne after two years after feeling like she was raising their on her own The Sun reported in 2018.

Sources told the publication that the Girls Aloud star ‘effectively raised Bear on her own for most of his first year’, during the Bedroom Floor hitmaker’s time on the road.

Insiders insisted that the cause of the pair’s relationship breakdown was due to his ‘constant travelling to promote his pop career in the months after their child was born’, and received support from her mum Joan.

It comes after Cheryl revealed that she would like to star in a ‘gritty drama’ following her huge success on stage in 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The singer made her acting debut as Jenny in the West End thriller play in January, taking over the leading role from the likes of Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore.

Reflecting on making her acting debut on stage, the Girls Aloud star went on to describe it as being very similar to singing in front of a live audience.

She explained: ‘I think all of it is just entertainment, I love being in front of a live audience again rather than just being on screen.

‘You feel the audience participation… it’s like an energy exchange, which isn’t that different from performing a song.’

Cheryl also admitted that joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story has ‘exceeded all’ her expectations as she gushed about how much she has enjoyed it.

Appearing on the BBC chat show with her co-star Jake Wood, Cheryl also admitted they have previously gotten into trouble for cracking up on stage.

Placing the blame on her co-star, Cheryl said: ‘It’s him! To be fair, it’s a ghost story so people think it’s scary, but it’s actually really funny in parts.

‘When I first started acting with Jake, I wasn’t ready for his comedic timing, so I was corpsing… I just burst out laughing on stage in front of the audience… Not my finest moment!’

Cheryl is starring in the play as Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted but her husband Sam remains skeptical.
