Cormac McCarthy dies age 89, iconic No Country for Old Men author’s son confirms
No Country for Old Men and The Road author Cormac McCarthy has died at the age of 89.
McCarthy died on Tuesday at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, his publisher Knopf and his son John McCarthy have confirmed.
A statement announced the sad news, which read: “Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy died today of natural causes at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
“He was eighty-nine years old. His death was confirmed by his son, John McCarthy.”
McCarthy became known as one of the greatest writers in American literary history during his career as an author.
