Dick Strawbridge’s son teases new collaboration after Channel 4 cut ties
Angel Adoree scolds Dick Strawbridge over chateau renovation
James Strawbridge teased plans for a new project with his dad, Dick Strawbridge, when he returns to the UK with wife Angel for their upcoming book tour.
Chef James, 39, has collaborated with his Escape to the Chateau star dad before on TV shows The Hungry Sailors and It’s Not Easy Being Green as well as several books.
James told Express.co.uk: “My dad comes and visits us every year in Cornwall, we spend a bit of family time down here. Work-wise, I was having a phone call with him this week to see if we can collaborate, and do something fun.
“I think it’s very much if an opportunity arises we might look at doing something but obviously he’s working hard with his own business, he’s been flat out doing weddings [at the chateau].
“So I think for me it will be more about enjoying that private family time where the grandchildren can hang out with him, and I can remind him how old he is.”

Dick and Angel announced their new book, The Chateau: Forever Home, following Channel 4’s decision to terminate their working relationship.
There will be some healthy competition between the family members as Dick and Angel’s tome goes up against James’s Salt and the Art of Seasoning in the book charts.
Nevertheless, James says it’s all in good fun. He continued: “[Dad and I] have co-written quite a few books together and when we work together it does alright but obviously the chateau is a lot bigger than where I live in my Cornish cottage, it’s a bit of a different vibe.
“I think that we always have a bit of banter around deadlines because he tends to be writing up until midnight the day before the deadline. I’m a bit more organised so I always like him to not forget that. But his books are great, quite biographical about his life and Angela and the children.

“We are slightly different but I think we share very much a common love of great ingredients and good food.”
It comes as James will get to indulge in his love of great food when he joins The Big Feastival next month.
The music and food festival, taking part at Blur’s Alex James’s farm in Kingham, the Cotswolds, will also see music from Tom Grennan, Rick Astley and Melanie C and food demonstrations from Ching He Huang MBE, Lisa Goodwin-Allen and more.
