Disney Channel Unveils ‘Hamster & Gretel’ Trailer, Premiere Date & Additional Casting!
Disney Channel has revealed when their new animated series Hamster & Gretel will premiere!
The upcoming show comes from Phineas & Ferb co-creator Dan Povenmire, and is inspired by his real life relationship with his younger sister.
In addition to the premiere date, the network has also revealed the trailer, and additional casting, which includes some voice actors from past Disney projects and a Stranger Things star!

The new series introduces Kevin and his younger sister, Gretel, who are about to be bestowed superpowers by space aliens. But something goes awry, and it’s Gretel and her pet hamster (named Hamster) who suddenly have new abilities. Now, protective older brother Kevin must figure out how to work with both Gretel and her pet, Hamster, to protect their city from mysterious dangers.
Starring in the series are previously announced Meli Povenmire as Gretel; Michael Cimino as Gretel’s older brother, Kevin; Beck Bennett as Gretel’s pet hamster, Hamster; Joey King as her tech-savvy cousin, Fred; Matt Jones as the siblings’ easygoing father, Dave; and Carolina Ravassa as their charismatic mother, Carolina.

Hamster & Gretel will premiere on Friday, August 12th at 9:35pm ET/PT on Disney Channel, following a special version of Disney’s Zombies 3.
Just announced as joining the series as recurring characters are Priah Ferguson as Gretel’s best friend, Bailey; Liza Koshy as news reporter Veronica Hill; Alyson Stoner and Brock Powell as the evil sibling duo Lauren and Lyle a.k.a The Destructress and FistPuncher, respectively; and viral rap sensation Akintoye as Kevin’s confident buddy, Anthony.
Guest stars include Jenny Lorenzo as Carolina’s mother, Abuelita; Latin pop star Karina La Voz as the tear-jerking La Cebolla; YouTuber Thomas Sanders as frat guy horse-man Neighslayer; TikTok star Casey Hamilton as Gretel’s mild-mannered substitute teacher, Mr. Chabner; and Adam Rose as evil jingle writer The Earworm.
