Doja Cat Reacts To Losing Her Twitter Verification – And SLAMS Users Who Pay For It: ‘Only Fans Have Blue Ticks’
Doja Cat don’t need no “blue ticks.”
As Elon Musk continues to shake up the traditional, working-just-fine way Twitter has operated for YEARS now, one thing that’s going by the wayside are the blue checkmarks that once served as a verification badge for official accounts — unless they pay up. However, the Get Into It singer ain’t budging!
If you follow the 27-year-old on the famous bird app, you may have noticed that her username is no longer followed by the check mark — meaning she elected to not cough up any coins like the SpaceX founder has asked. If you’re unaware, Elon rolled out Twitter Blue back in December, which allows users to pay $8 a month for verification, among other benefits. However, he later revealed that all verified “legacy” accounts, which had the blue check prior to the service’s debut, would be losing them unless the affiliated users paid up. Earlier this week, he announced:
“Final date for removing legacy Blue checks is 4/20”
Doja obviously fell into one of the first waves of the removal process, but it sounds like she doesn’t have plans to get it back. In a series of tweets Tuesday, the Kiss Me More singer made her opinion on the matter abundantly clear after one fan said she’s “over” without the verification. She wrote:
“Only fans have blue ticks.”
Another fan then stepped in, asking, “You have to pay for twitter blue now ? What has elon done to you doja ?” The Boss Bitch hitmaker took no time to clap back:
“Having a blue tick now means theres a higher chance that you’re a complete loser and and that you’re desperate for validation from famous people.”

DAMN! Is it just us, or does she sound a little salty?? (But we’re not gonna lie. The queen who brought us back the Taco Bell pizza can feel salty if she wants, LOLz!)
This isn’t the first time Doja has run into issues with her account, as she temporarily lost her blue check back in November after changing her username to “Christmas” — a move that conflicted with Elon’s policy against verified accounts repeatedly changing their handles. At the time, she tweeted the billionaire directly, pleading:
“i dont wanna be christmas forever @elonmusk please help i’ve made a mistake”
The Tesla founder enthusiastically hit back, “Working on it!”

We guess Doja just has bigger fish to fry now — maybe that new album she keeps teasing??
As for other celebs who don’t approve of the subscription model, Chrissy Teigen, Dionne Warwick, Ice-T, and more have all complained. Ch-ch-check ‘em out (below):
