Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack is battling cancer. The actress opened up about her ill health as she marked Olivia Newton-John’s death on Twitter.
Writing on Tuesday, Sam shared a photograph of herself, Olivia and her daughter Chloe taken in 1993 when Sam was playing Sandy on London’s West End.
She wrote: “This was the most magical of evenings. Olivia and Chloe had come to see Grease in London and we had dinner together afterwards.
“I was so excited and in awe, she was my childhood.
“I now start my own battle with this disease and am left feeling deeply moved. #OliviaNewtonJohn.”
Olivia died aged 73 on Monday following a battle with breast cancer that spanned 30 years on-and-off.
Following her announcement, Sam’s heartbroken followers took to the comments to share their well wishes.
Comedian Lucia Keskin wrote: “Sending strength. Love you loads!!!!”
Journalist Guy Clapperton echoed: “I can only send best wishes. And you have them.”
Mamma Mia actress Mazz Murray said: “Oh Sam.”
And soap expert Sharon Marshall added: “Wishing you love and strength.”
