The Voice UK host Emma Willis struggled to fight back tears as she reflected on her own miscarriage heartache during the latest episode of her show Emma Willis: Delivering Babies. The 46-year-old revealed she knew all too well about how the grieving parents were feeling after losing a child in 2007.
Discussing those who have experienced a miscarriage, a producer asked Emma: “Can you just even imagine what it must be like to be in that situation?”
At first Emma hesitantly said: “No I can’t, I can’t, I can’t imagine.”
She then went on to say: “I don’t know how to answer this because I can imagine, because it happened to me.
“I had a miscarriage, I was about seven weeks, in 2007.
“I hadn’t had children so I don’t think I probably really appreciated the fact that I was losing a child.”
Emma has filmed many episodes of the show which have, at times, involved tragedies, however it was this time round that hit her harder.
“When I came here, that kind of triggered much more thinking and reflection,” she explained.
“I think maybe that’s why it’s hit me much harder this time because I’ve thought more about my experience and what happened.”
She added that now she has three children she realised “the extent of that loss”.
Emma shared the clip with her 1.8 million followers on Instagram this week.
As part of the caption, she wrote: “The grief can stay with you always, but so can the heartfelt warmth and care that this incredible team give at the start of that journey.”
Many of the host’s followers flocked to her post to send their support.

The presenter’s tragedy happened a year before she tied the knot with Busted singer Matt.
The couple first met when was working as a presenter for MTV in 2004.
Emma and Matt are now parents to; Isabelle, 13, Ace, 10, and six-year-old Trixie.
The Voice UK continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
