Farrah Abraham divides fans again as she shares video of her daughter Sophia Laurent getting two more piercings for her 14th birthday
Farrah Abraham took her daughter Sophia Laurent to get two more piercings for her 14th birthday.
The Teen Mom vet, 31, shared video of the youngster getting a snakebite and earlobe piercing to her Instagram account on Wednesday.
‘HAPPY 14th Birthday!’ Farrah began in the caption of the post. ‘#snakebite & #earlobe piercing party! 6 piercings later #snakebitepiercings you match vour snake (cake emoji),’ she continued. ‘can you even eat your cake?’ she added, along with a slew of hashtags.
Fans were divided in the comments section, with some criticizing Farrah for allowing her daughter to get the piercing at such a young age while others praised her for letting her teen express herself.
The latest piercings comes after Sophia got her septum pierced for her 13th birthday, which Farrah also received criticism for.

‘Why just why ?!?’ one commenter posted.
‘Why are we ok with this? I know I’ll cop a lot of hate for this but she’s 14! Yes piercings can close up and heal perfectly, but where is the line drawn? Where is the innocence of being 14 gone? Maybe I’m old school, maybe I’m wrong but I feel like by allowing our children to dictate to us what they do is removing any parental rights we have. I’m all for supporting your children and guiding them accordingly.. but seriously – where is that line?! I’ve been a fan of yours Farah since day one but as a mum I can’t agree with your allowances and justifications with Sophia! I’m sorry,’ another chimed in.
‘Those piercings on her lip are forever scars…later she’s gonna wish her mom didn’t let her get those!! My daughters thanks me all the time for having said no to her now that’s she’s 22!!!’ another wrote.
‘Not sure who’s the parent and who’s the child here. I’m a parent of a 14 year old son. His priorities are school and homework not piercings,’ one posted.
There were also plenty of supportive fans defending Farrah and Sophia.
‘Teenage me wished my parents would have been okay with this. I love supporting what makes her happy,’ one fan posted.
‘I’m not the biggest Farah fan, but I will say one thing I can appreciate about her is she allows Sophia the freedom to express herself, alot of ppl saying its too young however we were piercing each other’s belly buttons with safety pins in the bathroom at school at 13,’ one fan pointed out.
‘So many teens had a goth phase and piercings aren’t permanent. Some of y’all are doing too much, let the girl express herself,’ another wrote.
‘Piercings aren’t forever. It is a phase people. Let young people be young,’ one fan wrote.
Farrah, meanwhile, also chimed in the comments section with her own gushing comment for Sophia: ‘HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY GORGEOUS! LOVE YOU ! Off to Tokyo.’

Last year Farrah defended herself against criticism after she let her daughter get her septum pierced for her 13th birthday.
The former Teen Mom star told TMZ that while she personally ‘wasn’t for it,’ her daughter wanted to have the piercing, so she made sure everything was done professionally and in accordance with local restrictions.
‘To those who might feel it is inappropriate that my daughter got her nose professionally done, legally done, I’m all about being legal,’ she explained.
‘We abided by the law. I am doing my best as a parent to make sure that she is healthy and happy, and I covered those bases. So congratulations to Sophia. I’m wishing her the best in her teen years, and if she wants to get more piercings, more power to her.’
Farrah noted that Sophia’s ‘generation’ is ‘much different’ than her own when she explained that her only child was the first in the family to get the nasal piercing.
‘I would rather it be by a professional, sanitized and clean, than my teen going, sneaking off and doing it herself and getting an infection,’ she said.
Farrah welcomed Sophia in 2009, one month after the little girl’s father, Derek Underwood, passed away in a tragic car accident.
She was only 17-years-old and eight-months pregnant when she started filming 16 and Pregnant.
The star appeared on seven seasons of the hit reality show before being fired for her choice to return to the adult entertainment industry.
