Gemma Owen shows off bizarre breakfast including ‘questionable’ sausages
Former Love Island star Gemma Owen shocked fans on Monday as she shared a picture of her “questionable” breakfast.
Gemma, who came in second in season 8 of the show behind Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, took to Instagram to showcase her breakfast that included items you wouldn’t immediately think of for the first meal of the day.
The breakfast included cheese and honey, “questionable” cocktail sausages, rice crispy cakes, and big chunks of apple.
“Today’s breakfast,” she captioned the post alongside an emoji covering its eyes.
This comes after Gemma’s split from her on-screen boyfriend, Luca Bish, despite the two going from strength to strength on the show.
Luca and Gemma did not immediately couple up on the ITV show, instead partnering with Paige Thorne and Liam Llewellyn; they started their relationship when Luca picked her during the second recoupling.
Outside of the show, the couple enjoyed a holiday to Portugal with Gemma’s family, including former footballer Michael Owen, and made things official in a pool-side spectacle.
Sadly, and after much speculation about the health of their relationship, Luca and Gemma parted ways in November 2022.
Announcing the news, she wrote: "To all my followers, I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn't an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for us both right now."
"Many of you have been on this journey with us from the beginning, and I wanted to thank you for your continued support as we start our new chapters."
Similarly, Luca said: "Switched my phone back on after taking some time out to clear my head after an emotional afternoon to thousands of messages and news articles about my breakup."
"We will remain good friends and I wish nothing but the best for her," the former fishmonger added.
Later, a source close to the former couple exclusively told OK! that things ended between the two following a family trip to Dubai where nothing changed.
"It had been going on for weeks and they had brushed over things and then they went to Dubai and nothing really changed so things came to an end,” they said.
Paige Thorne supported Gemma following the split, with the Love Island lads, including Davide, doing the same for Luca.
After Luca unfollowed her on Instagram, Gemma spoke to the difficult time and told Goss.ie: "These last few weeks, as going through any break up, it’s not nice. It’s not a nice time.”
"Having to deal with the press and other people’s opinions, and people thinking that they know what’s going on when they don’t, that’s been challenging.”
