Hayley Kiyoko Reacts to Velma Being Gay In New Scooby-Doo Movie

Hayley Kiyoko is responding to the viral news of Velma being fully gay in the new Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! movie!

If you recall, this is the first time the character, who’s long been said and rumored to be gay, has been shown as a lesbian on screen.

In addition, years ago, Hayley portrayed Velma in live action TV movies Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins and Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster, and she’s often referred to as “Lesbian Jesus.”

After the news of Velma as a lesbian being officially canon, Hayley shares her reaction.

“I feel alive and seen,” “Baby gay,” and “Happy for her ☺️” are among the things Hayley tweeted in response to fans.

“I remember booking Velma in 2008. It was my first big role in a movie. I also remember thinking ‘I wonder if they know they hired a lesbian as Velma’ here we are, 14 years later……😂 love you all so much,” Hayley added in her own tweet.

One fan wrote, “You walked so Lesbian Velma could Run,” to which Hayley laughed at.

She retweeted another fan said, “cartoon network knew what they were doing when they cast lesbian jesus herself as Velma”
