Inside Coronation Street icon Alison King’s star-studded 50th birthday party

Coronation Street star Alison King, who plays Carla Connor on the long-running soap, celebrated her 50th birthday in style.

Alison's co-star, Samia Longchambon who plays Carla's former sister-in-law Maria Connor, took to Instagram to share a snap of the star-studded celebrations.

The photo saw Samia and Alison posing alongside Julia Goulding, Jane Danson, Tina O'Brien and Georgia Taylor.

Captioning the glam pic Samia wrote: "Celebrated our awesome Ali Kings’ birthday with these queens last night #birthdaygirl #friends."

Fans of the actresses were quick to comment on the snap, with many wishing Alison a happy birthday. One wrote: "Happy Birthday Ali from Canada across the pond. What an amazing photo! So nice to see you are such close friends off set too. Thanks for sharing."

"What a stunning photo of you all! Kind of reminds me of that famous black & white supermodel pic from the 90s!" commented another.

While a third added: "Happy birthday 30th Alison. All the best wishes have a buzzing day r kidda . Thanks for your autograph xoxox"

And one fan gushed: "My favourite group of actresses all together!!!! where’s Maureen???"

Both Georgia, who plays Toyah Habeeb, and Julia, who plays Shona Platt, shared snaps of the glam occasion to their Instagram story.

Julia reposted Samia's story, to which she added a couple of heart emojis. While Georgia shared a different photo showing the women involved in a group hug.

Georgia's sweet snap of her co-stars comes amid reports that she has grown close to fellow Corrie star Charlie De Melo following her 'split' from her long term partner Mark Letheren.

Georgia recently shared some photos of the pair together in Edinburgh, further fuelling speculation that the pair have become a romantic item.

A number of fans commenting asking if the pair are a couple, with one adding: "I swear if you and Charlie aren’t dating ima be sad."

Georgia and Charlie's on-screen characters got married on the soap last year after he fathered a child with Abi Webster, who is played by Sally Carman.

Charlie then made the difficult decision to leave the programme, which Georgia was left devastated by. At the time, she wrote: "Heartbroken. I absolutely adore him. He's been a dream, an absolute dream.

"He's so funny so we laugh a lot but he is honestly one of the most supportive people I have ever worked with and even now, we're still in touch obviously, he's texting me, 'How did the day go? Are you OK?'

“He's just a team player. And I mean look at him, there's no complaints there either. He's beautiful."
