Will Ash, 46, was recently introduced to Emmerdale fans as successful businessman Caleb Milligan. While ITV viewers aren’t yet sure of Caleb’s true identity, a flashback has already given an insight into his past and his connection to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
As it turns out, Will is actually good friends with Cain Dingle actor Jeff, which should make shooting scenes together a breeze.
Speaking during a press event, he said of his Emmerdale gig: “I knew that I’d be working a lot with Jeff.
“That was a massive draw. Not to put anything down but it is work and it is nice to be working.
“A lot of the time you spend out of work as an actor. You spend a lot of time, as an actor, out of work so to do what I like doing every single day is amazing really.
“The main thing though was working with Jeff and the scripts are amazing.”
At the same event, Jeff added: “The character (Caleb) is written so well and he’s got a charm which Will brings across really beautifully.”
Jeff isn’t Will’s only famous connection, as he is also the second cousin of fellow soap actor Peter Ash.
Peter has starred in shows across the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and, like Will, hails from Manchester.
He has starred in soaps like Coronation Street, Casualty, Hollyoaks and Footballers Wives.
While Caleb might remain a mystery to viewers so far, Will might be a familiar face to many after also appearing in several popular British TV shows over the years.
Waterloo Road fans might best remember Will for his character Christopher Mead in the recently-renewed BBC series.
In the show, Christopher was the charismatic and deeply caring Deputy Headteacher, who proved especially popular with female pupils and members of staff.

He also played Steve Robinson in the highly-acclaimed BBC drama series Clocking Off, which followed the lives of a group of workers at a Manchester textile factory.
Will has also starred in some of the UK’s favourite shows, like Doctor Who, Shameless, Death in Paradise, Vera, Father Brown, Casualty and Silent Witness.
His other credits include Heartbeat, Where the Heart Is, Children’s Ward, Soldier Soldier, Moving On, Scott & Bailey and Inspector George Gently.
The actor’s marital status is unknown, as he keeps his personal life private, but it is thought that he lives in Greater Manchester.
