Arg told Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway: ‘It was a couple of years ago I was in a pretty bad place.
‘I feel the festive season, Christmas, it can either be an amazing spending time with family and friends with lots of joy or difficult for people – especially if you’re living by yourself, you’ve lost a family member or gone through a break-up.
‘It can be a real, real tough time. A couple of years ago I remember I felt very, very lonely myself.’

‘I was lucky to have lots of close family and friends but you’ve got to reach out and speak to people,’ he said
Arg described how his loneliness was self inflicted as he binged on cocaine and suffered two drug overdoses during the festive period which saw him rushed to hospital.
He said: ‘I distanced myself from other people, I was very isolated and stuff like that.
‘I was lucky to have lots of close family and friends but you’ve got to reach out and speak to people.
‘You’ve got to want it yourself, there are people who lose their children, their job, their girlfriend leaves them but sometimes its not enough and you’ve got to this rock bottom, and not everyone makes it from there.’

James previously revealed he was shocked when he was placed in an eating disorder unit during his first trip to rehab in 2014 after going to treat drug addiction.
Speaking to MailOnline, the TV personality, who is now happily sober, revealed that staff at a rehab centre were the first one to identify his issues with food, and tried to teach him coping strategies such as mindful eating.
‘When I actually went to rehab for the first time, I went there initially for my problems with drink and drugs or whatever, and after a few days I got put in the eating disorder unit,’ James explained of his unexpected diagnosis.
James said he has continued with the techniques he was taught, revealing: ‘They tried to teach me to do mindful eating instead of shoving it down, put your phone away, relax, chew your food plenty of times, let the meal last 20 minutes, don’t rush your food so that’s what I’m trying to do now.’
