JLS announce huge comeback tour – 15 years after X Factor fame
Boyband JLS have announced they're coming back to the stage as they prepare for a huge comeback tour.
The band, consisting of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, JB Gill and Oritsé Williams, originally shot to fame when they finished second to Alexandra Burke on The X Factor in 2008.
The band, whose hits include Beat Again, One Shot and Everybody In Love, later left their fans devastated when they announced they were going on a hiatus in 2013.
They are now reuniting for a major arena tour which will see them perform some of their greatest hits but also a DJ battle between the band members.
Sharing the news on Twitter, they wrote: “The suspense is over… We couldn’t be more excited to announce another UK and Ireland arena tour later this year.”
The band continued: “[The] last time out was totally surreal and we’ve been eagerly awaiting the right time to do it all over again.
“Playing live and seeing our amazing fans is definitely the best part of being JLS!”
Talking to the Sun about the announcement and what fans can expect from the tour, Marvin said: “We’re not just talking about JLS songs, we’ll be playing big records that represent the era that people know us the most from.”
Oritsé added: “We just want to get out there and play the hits. It’s those nostalgic songs which remind people of all their experiences growing up."
Aston also mentioned that they're trying to make the show as good as possible for the fans.
He said: “We’ve set trends by doing outlandish stuff on tour so I’m not sure what else we can do to shock people. But everyone’s always expecting greatness from a JLS show, which we will try and provide.”
The Everybody Say JLS: The Hits Tour will kick off at Dublin’s 3Arena on October 20 and take in a total of 15 arena shows, ending at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena on November 11.
Fans have already taken to Twitter and other social media platforms to express their excitements regarding the news.
“Finally! So buzzing to be able to come see you boys again,” wrote one person on Twitter.
“Yayyyyyyy can’t wait to see you guys again,” agreed another.
A third added: “What better day to announce this than on my birthday!!”
Tickets for the Everybody Say JLS: The Hits Tour go on sale next Friday, March 3, at 9am.
