Katie Price reveals her dog Blade has died after being hit by a car – as petition to ban her from owning pets soars to 30K after SEVEN animal deaths at her home

Katie Price revealed that her beloved black German Shepherd protection dog Blade died on Monday after being hit by a car.

The former glamour model, 45, took to Instagram to share the sad news as she told how she had lost her ‘best friend’ and ‘protector’.

It happened just seven months after another of Katie’s dogs, Sharon, was killed on the same road.

It comes as a petition calling for Katie to be banned from owning animals has garnered 30,000 signatures following the deaths of a number of her pets.

The star has faced a slew of tragedies over the past six years, including the deaths of now five dogs, a horse and even her chameleon Marvin in her care.

Oh no: Katie Price revealed that her beloved black German Shepherd protection dog Blade died on Monday after being hit by a car

Katie penned in her post alongside a sweet snap of her and Blade: ‘Words can’t express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today.

‘I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade.’

According to The Sun, Grove Lodge Veterinary Group posted about the incident on their Facebook page, saying: ‘Unfortunately we have had a large shepherd dog handed into our OOH team last night.

‘Found on the A24 near dial post. The dog does not have a microchip, however was wearing a brown Louis Vuitton collar.’

A representative for Katie has been contacted by MailOnline for further comment.

The petition to ban Katie from owning anymore pets has now reached over 30,000 signatures.

The Change.org petition was launched three years ago and within a year of posting numbers rose to 10,000, however in the wake of her Pomeranian Sharon’s death in November 2022 the resurfaced petition has gained another 16,000 supporters.

In November 2022, it was reported that the Pomeranian escaped via an open gate and was sadly knocked over.

Shock: It comes as a petition calling for Katie to be banned from owning animals has garnered 30,000 signatures following the deaths of a number of her pets

Critics standing behind the petition posted an update in November which made a multitude of claims – including that her animals died of lack of care, are left to live in filth and excrement and are trained to attack.

The impassioned update on the petition read: ‘A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care. She bought this puppy for her 13-year-old child three weeks ago, which was killed in an accident no one witnessed…

‘In the last five years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This isn’t a single family tragedy. It’s a common thing in Katie Price’s home. Two dogs have been ran over…

‘Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to been seen again. Her guard dog broke into her neighbour’s garden and killed their chickens…

‘A dog trained to attack people. Also ripped her cat apart. The neglect [is] seen on her show My Crazy Life. Cat poo with mold growing on it. Dog poo just left on the floor. Clothes dumped all over the place…

‘Alger [sic] growing in her pool where her puppy drowned. She jokes about her mucky mansion. But it ain’t a joke that animals are dying from her lack of care…

‘Being left alone to meet untimely deaths and nobody is saying “enough is enough” and carry on selling her animals. Three weeks a bulldog puppy named Rola was in her care…

‘Nobody knows, including her, how it died. We need to stop this now no more animals need to die.’

Following the update, sources told The Sun: ‘It’s shocking to see the conditions those poor dogs are living in…

‘After all that’s happened with Katie’s pets in the past you’d have thought she would be going above and beyond for her dogs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

‘She might have renovated her home but the dogs don’t appear to be benefiting from it and still live in squalor.’

Sharon was killed when she allegedly escaped and ran on to the road where she was hit by a car. She was picked up off the A24 by the driver and taken to to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, where her death was confirmed.

In 2020, Katie’s pet dog Rolo was suffocated in her home, while her Alsatian Sparkle was mowed down in February of the same year, in shocking echoes of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018.

In July 2020, Katie was criticised by animal rights activists after Rolo’s suffocation. The French bulldog died after getting stuck in an electric armchair while the reality star was packing some bags in another room, reported The Mirror.

Rolo was given to her daughter Princess as a birthday present and is the third dog of the family’s to die in tragic circumstances.

Katie later revealed her shock after she was illegally advised to give her late puppy Rolo cannabis oil before he ‘suffocated to death in an armchair’.

The late French bulldog, which was bought as a present for her daughter Princess’ 13th birthday, fell asleep under an electric chair after having the non-psychoactive cannabis derivative and later ‘suffocated’ after the family’s nanny sat on the chair.

Katie told the Mirror that she was unaware that it is illegal to give dogs the substance without a veterinary prescription, in accordance with the The Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.

Rolo’s death came just months after her Alsatian Sparkle’s tragic death when she ran on to a busy road outside her previous home. She was killed on the A24 after escaping from Katie’s house, which she has since moved out of and is on the market.

One of Katie’s horses was tragically killed on the same road in 2017 after escaping from a field.

The star suffered further tragedy in 2018 when her Alsatian Queenie was struck and killed by a delivery driver.

The star took to Instagram to pay tribute to her one-year-old German Shepherd, who was gifted to her by then-husband Kieran Hayler back in 2016.

She penned: ‘I’m absolutely devastated, heartbroken, my faithful loving family dog’s life Queenie has been shortened as she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who ran into our dog seeing her struggle and drove off without telling us and left her to die very disappointed a human being can be this heartless! [sic]’

It was initially reported the driver was from pizza giant Domino’s, yet bosses at the company refuted claims their driver was to blame.

A Domino’s spokesman said in a statement to OK! Online: ‘We were very sorry to hear this news and have given Ms Price our heartfelt sympathies.

‘Our investigation revealed our driver inadvertently called Ms Price’s property via the security gate intercom, whilst trying to make a delivery to a neighbour.

‘Upon realising the error, GPS tracking reveals she went straight to the correct address. Our driver remained on public roads and had no access to Ms Price’s land.

‘Our driver holds a clean, valid EU driving license and maintains she did not hit an animal. She has voluntarily contacted the police but has been told no criminal charges are pending. We want to understand what happened and have asked Ms Price to share the CCTV to help our investigation.’

‘Unfortunately, despite repeatedly requesting, we’re still unable to get a crime reference number or sight of the CCTV Katie mentioned, to help our investigation.’
