Singer Kelis, 43, breaks her silence over rumors she’s dating Bill Murray, 72, after fan asks her to address the romance: ‘I wouldn’t bother at all’

Kelis has responded to the speculation that she is dating actor Bill Murray.

The Milkshake singer, 43, took to Instagram on Friday night with some sizzling bikini snaps, where she frolicked in the water while wearing a colorful two-piece.

And while her 1.1M followers appreciated the stunning view, many took to her comments to inquire about the alleged new romance, and asked whether there was any validity to the rumors of her dating the 72-year-old actor.

‘Ma’am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations?!? Cuz damn! What he doing with all that?!?’ one commentator asked, eliciting a response from the singer.

‘Lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all,’ she responded, humorously shutting down the conversation.

Kelis looked incredible in the new vacation photos and accessorized her beach look with a number of gold necklaces. 

She also shared a clip which saw her jumping off a boat and into the blue ocean.

Comments about the romance continued to pour in under the post, with one fan asking, ‘Bill took these pictures??’

Another made a reference to the actor’s famous 2003 film Lost In Translation, writing, ‘Bill will be lost in translation if he really had kelis, she too fine.’ 

Yet another bemoaned the couple’s age difference, writing, ‘Bill Murray doesn’t deserve this.’  

News of the duo’s potential union shocked fans on Thursday. Kelis and Bill have reportedly been ‘getting close for a while’ after meeting in the United States, following the passing of her husband, Mike Mora last year, from stomach cancer aged just 37.

Last weekend, the 72-year-old Ghostbusters star was spotted watching a number of his rumored new girlfriend’s most recent shows, including her latest ‘from the side of the stage in London,’ according to The U.S. Sun.

The publication revealed that a friend of the couple said they ‘met up in the States before, which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here.

‘They’ve clearly hit it off,’ the insider added. ‘They were both seen at the same hotel, and he’s been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla [in South London].’

The source pointed out that Murray recently mourned the loss of his ex-wife, Jennifer Butler, who he split from in 2008 after more than a decade together, following her unexpected death in 2021.

During their relationship, the father-of-six and Butler welcomed four sons: Caleb, 30, Jackson, 27, Cooper, 26, and 22-year-old Lincoln.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Kelis and Murray’s representatives for comment.

Kelis had her first child, Knight, with then-husband, Nas, in July 2009, and her youngest two, Shepherd, eight, and Galilee, two, with her late spouse.

Murray and Kelis are said to have connected of their ‘shared relatively recent bereavements.’

‘Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap,’ the insider claimed.

He is currently in the United Kingdom filming a sequel to his film Ghostbusters.

Kelis’ second spouse died after a six-month battle with stage four stomach cancer in March, 2022.

Mora revealed he had cancer in September 2021 and had been diagnosed a year earlier – at which time doctors had given him just 18 months left to live.

Reps for Kelis confirmed her husband’s death in a statement (via ET), asking fans to respect her privacy at this time.

‘Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away. We would ask all to respect Kelis and her family’s privacy as of right now. Thank you,’ said Steve Satterhwaite, of Red Light Management.

Kelis and Mora have been living on a remote farm in Temecula, California, outside of Los Angeles since January 2020, which they had managed together and raised their kids.

News of the union comes a year after it was reported that Bill was accused of ‘inappropriate behavior’ leading to his latest movie shut down.

The actor had the complaint filed against him in April last year before Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogan’s Being Mortal was temporarily shelved, it was claimed.

The details of the allegations were not immediately clear but Searchlight Pictures said an investigation has been launched.

He has previously been accused of misbehaving on set, having allegedly been part of a ferocious bust up with his Charlie’s Angels co-star Lucy Liu. He is said to have berated the actress after she confronted him over tweaking the script to the 2001 blockbuster.

Searchlight temporarily stopped production after the allegations emerged – but said it would halt indefinitely pending investigation.
