Kieran Hayler and fiancée Michelle react as Katie Price dodges jail for gutter s**g text
Kieran Hayler and his fiancée Michelle Penticost have reacted to the ruling at Lewes Crown Court that saw Katie Price get handed a community order sentence for breaching a restraining order.
The reality TV star, 43, whose lawyer has said she has "two personalities", was ordered to undertake 170 hours of community service, as she avoided being sentenced to spend time in prison.
Kieran and Michelle shared their statement on the result and said they were "incredibly disappointed" by Judge Stephen Mooney's decision.
"We are incredibly disappointed with the result of today's court hearing," they said jointly.
"We feel a custodial sentence would have sent the right message to the public given the seriousness of Miss Price's offending."
In the messages, Katie told her ex-husband, whom she shares children Jett, eight, and Bunny, six, with: "Tell your c****** w***e, piece of s**t, girlfriend not to start on me.
"She has a restraining order so shouldn't try to antagonise me as she is in breach and I'm sure she doesn't want people knowing that she was having an affair with you behind my back. That gutter s**g."
Also during the hearing, in a victim impact statement read to the court Michelle told how the impact of the restraining order breach by Katie had a “devastating effect” on her mental wellbeing.
She said: “The impact of what Katie has done is very upsetting, I feel threatened and intimidated. I feel demoralised and not wanting to go out.
"The language used made me feel scared. I felt it was an attack on me.
“The consequences are I feel she will attack me," the mum-of-two continued. "I felt by having a restraining order it would make me feel safe but by someone breaching it it has made me feel very vulnerable.”
Katie was arrested on Friday 21 January and questioned at Worthing Police Station over allegations she breached a restraining order, meaning she is not allowed to contact Kieran's fiancée Michelle.
She was held in custody for 12 hours following the arrest.
At the time, the mum-of-five pleaded not guilty following the charge, but later changed her plea to "guilty", admitting she had breached the restraining order.
