Kirstie Allsopp fans confused as she accidentally swallows Airpod while taking vitamins

Property guru Kirstie Allsopp has baffled fans online after revealing she accidentally swallowed an Apple AirPod headphone while she was taking her vitamins.

According to the TV presenter, 50, the incident took place on Sunday, with Kirstie explaining she had been trying to take a selection of vitamins before making the unexpected gaffe.

Following the ingestion of the expensive retail item, which comes with a hefty price tag of over £100, Kirstie went on to tell fans she had been sick and managed to retrieve the item and thankfully dodged a hospital visit in the process.

Recalling her mistake on Twitter, Kirstie wrote: “In other news I just swallowed an AirPod while downing my vitamins, I don't recommend it.

“I've managed to chuck it back up without having to go to hospital, but my throat is really quite sore.”

Many fans were not convinced with the claims and asked Kirstie to clarify how she, as a grown woman, had managed to make such a silly mistake.

Explaining how the incident had happened, she continued: “AirPods in pocket, put vitamins in pocket while getting glass of water, chucked vitamins into mouth, gulped water, go for second lot, see one AirPod in hand, check pocket, check handbag. Realise there’s only one place it could be.”

The process of retrieving it had proven to be a painful one, with Kirstie even admitting she had burst a few blood vessels while trying to vomit it out.

She wrote: “Never again! Getting it, back up was agony and I've burst some little blood vessels around my eyes.”

Once they were sure Kirstie was alright, many fans began to question whether the AirPod still worked after its unexpected day trip down her gullet, to which Kirstie replied: “Don’t know yet, but it still smells of sick and I'm not sure about putting it in my ear."

"Way too much information I know,” she added.

But on Tuesday morning, Kirstie had another update for fans who had been amusedly following the bonkers tale all weekend, as she wrote: “Morning All, Guess what? They still work!”

Despite the Location, Location, Location star’s story, many fans weren’t convinced it was true, and instead called out the star for coming up with such a ridiculous story, with Kirstie even telling one fan that accused her of lying to “F**k off”.

One fan wrote: “This just didn’t happen.”

Another then added: “The most didn’t happen thing in the history of didn’t happiness”.

Before a third chimed in: “Jesus, at least look at what you’re swallowing, you’re not a performing seal!”

While another even joked: “I will never afford a home while your generation has the luxury to eat electronics.”

The comment is a direct dig at the presenter for controversial comments she made earlier this year, which saw her claiming that young people could afford to buy their homes if they cut back on subscription services.

Speaking at the time, she said: “When I bought my first property, going abroad, the EasyJet, coffee, gym, Netflix lifestyle didn't exist.

“I used to walk to work with a sandwich. And on payday I'd go for a pizza, and to a movie, and buy a lipstick. Interest rates were 15 per cent, I was earning £11,500 a year.”

She added: 'I don't want to belittle those people who can't do it. But there are loads of people who can do it and don't. It is hard."
