A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton has said she’s focusing on herself following her split from husband Alex Goward.
Talking to her fans on social media, she revealed she has been hitting the gym, taking flying lessons and renovating her new house.
Speaking to the Daily Star on Thursday, the presenter, 40, gave an insight into her life 12-months after separating from her husband.

Laura revealed that she has bought a new house which she has completely renovated, ensuring that she made room for her own gym.
She explained: ‘I put a little gym in for myself and have a fitness regime with my friend, who is living with me at the moment, and we work out. I think having a workout partner keeps you motivated.
‘I don’t think it’s good to get hung up on weight. It’s just how I feel, and to feel healthy is more important to me than what the scales say.’

She also added: ‘I’m learning to fly so I can fly myself to my own travel destinations. I’ve done 16-and-a-half hours so far, so I’ve still got away to go, but I’m enjoying it and I’d like to get my licence this year – fingers crossed.’

The presenter, who announced the end of her 13-year marriage in May, previously confirmed the former couple had pre-arranged the Boxing Day skiing holiday after agreeing to spend Christmas together.
Laura – a keen skier – shared a series of photos from the slopes, among them a group shot of herself and Alex, 41, alongside their children and a wider group of family members.
She also posted pictures of herself in salopettes, safety helmet and snow goggles as she showed off her skills on one of the mountainous ski trails.
Captioning the photos, she wrote: ‘Spectacular Scenery, Spectacular Snow and the Spectacular Sarenne (the longest black run in Europe). Today was a good day…

‘I’m always grateful to spend time on the snow, and this time it’s with a great group of friends and our little ones!’
Hamilton announced their shock split in May, taking to Instagram to post a picture of a framed message which read: ‘Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.’
Alongside it, she wrote: ‘This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
‘Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.’
Shortly after the split was confirmed, Laura revealed she had moved into a new property in Surrey, close by to their marital home, revealing she was in the midst of a big renovation.
The former couple also owned a coffee shop in Purley called Lord Roberts on The Green but three months after the break-up, it changed ownership to Ghazala Akhtar.

Earlier this week, Laura said her house renovation was ‘overwhelming’.
She told Metro: ‘I’m short on time. Money short. But it is what it is, and it’s my home, and I’m trying to create something special for myself and my children.’
And in September, Laura gave fans another update on the renovation process of her huge new house which she started working on in March.
A month later, there was a small fire at the home which was put out safely.
In a shared video, Laura showed her 161,000 followers the building progress as she admitted she initially had ‘a bit of a panic’.
Sharing a video of different parts of the house, she showed off the brick structure with scaffolding surrounding the house.

Already fitted into the huge two-storey house were several skylights which were the perfect fitting for the attic area.
The huge house which overlooks a green garden appeared to resemble a building site as work is still clearly in progress.
Updating fans on her renovations, the TV favourite captioned the clip: ‘After almost two months of working abroad, I FINALLY got to see ‘The Rebuild’ (the family home I have been building for myself and the children since March,’ she captioned the post.

Meanwhile, in November, Laura and her co-stars showed their love to Jonnie Irwin after revealing his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The property expert, who fronts the hit Channel 4 show and BBC’s Escape to the Country, has been given just months to live as the father-of-three has confirmed the cancer in his lung has spread to his brain.
After the 48-year-old confirmed the devastating news, plenty of his colleagues and fellow presenters have thrown their support behind him during such a difficult time.
