‘I just wasn’t impressed’: Liam Neeson admits he felt ‘uncomfortable’ during THAT awkward moment with host Joy Behar on The View
Liam Neeson felt ‘uncomfortable’ during his recent interview on The View.
The actor, 70, appeared on the talk show last week to promote his starring role in Marlowe but things took an awkward turn.
The segment mostly focused on host Joy Behar’s love for Neeson and included a montage of clips that showed her making on-air comments such as: ‘I would just like to have my ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson.’
Referencing his famous film Taken one of her co-hosts even joked: ‘Joy wants to get taken by you’, prompting her to quote Neeson’s famous line from the movie: ‘I will find you and I will kill you.’
But while the audience laughed, Neeson didn’t seem to see the funny side to the comment and looked rather stony-faced.

In reaction to the interview he has now told Rolling Stone: ‘I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They’re talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it’s an American problem.
‘I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion.
‘And then our segment starts, and it’s just all this BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn’t impressed.
‘I’m uncomfortable in those situations, you know?’
He did add though that he managed to have a ‘good, intelligent conversation’ with cohost Sunny Hostin, 54, after the embarrassing interaction.
It comes after it was revealed that Liam will star in new thriller The Riker’s Ghost, directed by The Crying Game mastermind, Neil Jordan.
The iconic actor will play a convict set for release who is then forced to break a terrorist out of prison, reports Deadline.
The film is set to begin filming in September, 2023 and is written by Sean O’Keefe and Brian Rudnick.

The project will see Neeson reunite with Jordan and Parallel Film producer Alan Moloney after the trio worked on thriller Marlowe.
Jordan said: ‘This is a unique take on the prison escape. A bare knuckle ride from incarceration to freedom, by someone who just wants to finish his term.
‘The reluctant escapee will be played by Liam Neeson, and I can’t wait to explore this character with him.
Moloney added: ‘I am thrilled to be joining forces again with Neil and Liam. We have put together an elite team to support Neil’s scripted and directorial vision. This one will have you on the edge of your seat.’
Moloney, Endurance Media’s Steve Richards and Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt will will produce, with Jake Katofsky and Susan Mullen serving as co-producers.
Neese and Richards have memorably worked together on action movie Non-Stop, which was a box office hit in 2014.

This came days after Neeson launched into a bizarre rant aimed at Conor McGregor while giving his thoughts on UFC fighting.
Although the actor is believed to have never met the MMA fighter, 34, he revealed he had some very strong opinions about his fellow Irishman.
He went as far as to claim that Conor ‘gave Ireland a bad name’, and mockingly referred to the 5′ 9″ athlete as a ‘little leprechaun’.

Asked by Men’s Health for his thoughts on the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Liam responded: ‘UFC I can’t stand. That to me is like a bar fight. I know the practitioners are like, ‘no, you’re wrong—the months of training we do…’
‘Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head? That’s the next stage of the UFC. I hate it.’
Calling out Conor directly, he continued: ‘That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.’
MailOnline contacted Conor’s representatives for comment at the time.
