Love Is Blind star claims marriage succeeded ‘in spite of’ dating show
Love is Blind: Trailer for Netflix original reality show
Amber Pike, 31, and Matt Barnett, 32, became one of the show’s first iconic couples and married in the season finale, but the entrepreneur has now slammed the show and revealed why the pair were absent from the show’s reunion.
Earlier this month, Amber shared a sweet photo of her and Matt holding each other with the caption: “Happy Easter from the B’s.”
While the post collected the usual amount of criticism, support and questions from fans, Amber shocked her hefty social media following when she became embroiled in a few arguments in her own comment section.
With season four of Love is Blind currently streaming, one fan asked who Matt and Amber were rooting for, to which the socialite simply replied: “We don’t watch LIB.”
The fan responded with surprise, questioning why they wouldn’t watch the show where they found “the love of your life”, but Amber quickly set the record straight.
She slammed the show writing back: “We are together IN SPITE of that show not because of it.”
The response riled up fans of the show, with one fuming: “But you were able to meet Burnett on the show, who saved you from being homeless and having student loans… and you obviously seem to have a better life now, but isn’t that because of the show?
“I don’t know what went on behind the scenes, and I know that being on a reality show can be stressful, but you signed up for it by choice.
“It is too convenient for you to suddenly distance yourself from the show now. LIB, the media, and the audience behind the popularity of the show made you what you are today.”

Amber raged in return: “Except that literally NONE of what you said was true.”
Elsewhere in the comments, another of Amber’s 1.3 million followers asked if an on-set feud with the show’s creators had been the cause behind their notable absence in the show’s reunion episode.
The entrepreneur revealed: “I told them to stay away from us.”
Ever since their season aired in 2020, Matt and Amber’s long-standing relationship has been used as proof that the show’s unique romance premise does work.
However, only eight of the 20 couples who got engaged in the four seasons of the show are still currently together, including Amber and Matt’s season one costars Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton.
