Love Island fans call out backstabbing in the villa as tensions rise
Love Island viewers have hit back at this years batch of Islanders after witnessing what they dubbed to be “backstabbing and b****iness” on the popular ITV dating show.
On Sunday night’s edition of the show, the villa was full of sneaky gossiping behind the Islanders backs, as Casey’s ongoing row with Ron continued to rumble on following the outcome of the Couple’s Poll challenge on Friday.
During the challenge, Shaq queried whether Ron only made Lana his girlfriend because everyone likes her.
The suggestion prompted Ron to discuss the challenge and accusations of game playing, as he spoke at the mini fire pit about his experience of watching Love Island as a viewer.
Casey was left fuming during the challenge, after Ron told Rosie, his current love interest, that Casey prioritised his time with the boys over her.
At the same time, a string of other Islanders, including Jamie, Will and Rosie also stuck their oar into the fray and continued to question Ron’s intentions after he revealed his “game plan” for winning the show with Lana.
Taking to twitter to air their thoughts, one fan wrote: “Thought we were gonna have calmer times with Live gone, everyone’s a Liv now I’m afraid.”
It comes just days after contestant Olivia Hawkins was dumped from the villa after stirring up drama with her comments behind the stars backs.
Another viewer soon weighed in, adding “I just don’t think anyone in this villa likes each other, never seen this much b***hing on television in my life!”
A third also agreed, adding: “None of these islanders are going to speak to each other the minute they land in England.”
A similar sentiment was also echoed by another fan, who added “The villa reunion is gonna be mad!” In a direct reference to the annual reunion show which takes place at the end of each series.
Things took a heated turn during Sunday’s episode of Love Island, as Casey and Ron found themselves embroiled in yet another row in a direct escalation from their previous disagreement.
Financial adviser Ron, and makeup artists Lana, both 25, had offered advice to Rosie, who is currently coupled up with Casey, after she was left questioning whether or not her relationship was one sided.
Ron told the star: “If you want to prepare yourself for the outside world, he needs to get to know you a lot quicker.”
“The only way you’re going to do that is by spending more 1-1 time with you…I think he loves being one of the ‘Three Musketeers’ (With Tom and Willi) a lot…I would say just keep a little bit of space and see where he goes.”
Rather than simply accepting the advice however, Rosie soon relayed what had been said to Casey, who promptly took umbrage with the star and called him out while questioning what his motive had been in planting the seeds of doubt.
As several other stars soon waded into the fray, Ron began to receive a string of criticism from all sides, with some fans even arguing that the other islanders were “bullying him”
One tweeted: “They are bullying Ron now stop it,” as another wrote: “It’s genuinely a new person they gang up on every week and they've made their way around back to Ron again.”
“These lot are such bad vibes the way they just pick on one person to hate on and everyone else just follows along lol it’s like they’re school kids,” another fan echoed.
Another fan concluded: “I get that Ron does some annoying things sometimes but the way the entire villa is constantly targeting him is weird and obsessive.”
