Love Island finalists say goodbye to 8-week holiday as they make their way back home
The Love Island finalists are coming home.
Winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinan were joined by their fellow finalists Tom Clare, Samie Elishi, Shaq Muhammad, Tanya Manhenga, Lana Jenkins, and Ron Hall at Cape Town airport as they prepared for the 12 hour flight back to England.
Kai and Sanam were the epitome of loved-up in photos taken of the pair together as they beamed while posing for a snap together while Kai rested his arm over his not-yet-girlfriend's shoulder.
Another photo of the pair showed a more candid shot of Sanam chatting to someone as Kai lovingly stood behind and wrapped his arms around her.
Runners-up Lana and Ron, who were together on-and-off from the beginning of the series, also looked smitten as they posed for photos together as Shaq was seen with his arm around Tanya’s shoulder as she sweetly held onto his hand.
The love was also being shared between friends as a photo of Tom next to Ron and Kai saw Ron plant a kiss on the 23 year old’s cheek.
The girls cosied up for photos together, with one showing Tanya and Lana flash a peace sign.
Following Monday night’s final, the voting results have been released – and it's safe to say that Kai and Sanam won by a landslide.
The winning pair got 44% of the vote, securing 343,241 (43.75%), while runners-up Lana and Ron bagging 30% of the vote with 235,996 (30.08%).
Third place couple Samie and Tom received 24% of the vote with 185,572 (23.65%), as Shaq and Tanya secured just 2% with 19,753 (2.52%).
As a result of Kai and Sanam being crowned as this series' winners by new host Maya Jama, the duo won £50,000 and have since shared how they plan on spending the cash.
Speaking on The Morning After podcast, the couple shared that after jetting off on holiday to the Amalfi Coast and Santorini, they want to put the remainder of the money to good use.
Sanam told the listeners that along with investing in projects to help children, they would also be giving some of the money to her mum, who is on her own after her dad passed away.
She said: "I am going to be soppy but I am going to give my mum some of course because it's just me and mum so I have got to support her as well."
Sanam then joked that it didn't matter what Kai said, some of the money was definitely going to her mum.
She continued: "We have actually spoken about – we come from jobs where we both work with children and I actually want to be able to do something for those children."
The former social worker added that although she's not very "business minded" she definitely wants to find some ways to invest the money to help children.
