Love Island signs global superstar to perform in villa for ‘biggest ever’ appearance
The Love Island villa is set for its biggest performance ever as superstar Ne-Yo has been signed up to perform for the Islanders.
Every series of the ITV2 dating show sees a huge star brought in to sing or DJ at the villa and this year bosses have outdone themselves by booking the R'n'B hit maker to entertain the couples.
Ne-Yo is expected to arrive in tonight's (Friday) episode to perform all of his biggest hits, which include Miss Independent, So Sick, Beautiful Monster and Closer, and there is apparently an even bigger surprise lined up, too.
A source told The Sun: "It's one of the show's biggest ever productions. He'll perform all of his huge hits and there's a spectacular, never seen before finale that will surprise fans and the cast."
Ne-Yo, 43, certainly has plenty of hits to choose from for his villa cameo as his career has included three Grammy Award wins, as well as five number one singles in the UK alone.
Previous performers who have stopped in to entertain the Islanders in other series have included Craig David, Becky Hill and Joel Corry.
UK TV viewers have had the chance to see Ne-Yo recently on ITV as he starred in the most recent series of The Masked Singer, where he was unmasked as Badger.
Ne-Yo told The Mirror of being Badger: "I’m not the chattiest person, even in my personal life, so, for me it wasn’t terribly difficult to keep the secret at all."
The dad-of-five also spoke about how much he loved his Badger costume, saying: "I’d wear it to my kids’ birthday party.
"My only real regret is that they never got to see me in the full costume, I know they would’ve loved that."
It has been an even more dramatic week in the Love Island villa than usual as the return of Casa Amor has been announced.
The twist sees the girls and boys separated to different villas and new bombshells drafted in to tempt them away from their current partners.
In previous series of the show, Casa Amor has sparked some of the biggest dramas, with shock recouplings and cheating exposed.
This year, last summer's winner Davide Sanclimenti has fuelled rumours he could return to Casa Amor by posting a cryptic statement on Instagram as he announced his split from Ekin-Su Culculoglu after 11 months together.
However, fans were not sure that a repeat performance from Davide would be a good idea for him.
