MAFS BFFs April Banbury and Whitney Hughes post naked snaps as they hit back at trolls

April Banbury and Whitney Hughes may have left their Instagram followers shocked on Thursday as they stripped down before jumping into a lake in Scotland.

Posting a photo to their Instagram Stories, the Married At First Sight UK stars made sure to cover their bottoms with green heart emojis, as they posed turned away from the camera while making their way into the water.

Holding hands April, 33, and Whitney, 30, then jumped into the lake, with Whitney adding: "Life is short & it's here to be lived" on a video clip of the lake, after the duo had entered.

On the first image she simply added the text: "Streaking in Scotland" and tagged April.

Speaking to The Sun, April and Whitney opened up about the trip, with April telling the outlet: "Whitney and I have come to Inverness for some much needed zen time.

"We decided to go streaking in the freezing river in prep for the ice bath challenge at Tough Mudder."

Opening up about the online trolling she's received since appearing on MAFS, April continued: "Most of the trolls are women. It makes me really sad because I'm a huge champion for female empowerment, and women supporting women.

"So to see women tearing each other down is really sad. Thank you to everyone else who has been really kind though."

April previously opened up about how appearing on MAFS left her needing therapy, telling The Sun: "The traumas I have from being on Married At First Sight are ruining my life. I was given six therapy sessions and basically told to try and move on.

"People say Love Island is brutal but MAFS is 100 per cent worse."

She also urged people to not apply for the show or to at least wait until showrunners put “more stringent background checks" in place.

On the show, April was matched up with financial advisor George Roberts. However, the couple split in early August and just weeks later he was arrested on "suspicion of controlling and coercive control" after accusations from women he dated before the show.

Whitney also had a rather rocky time on the show and she ended up embarking on a romance with Matt Murray, despite the fact they were both married to other people – Whitney to Duka Cavolli and Matt to Gemma Rose.

They split before the reunion was filmed weeks after cameras stopped rolling on the main series. Discussing this with OK!, Whitney said: "I don’t regret how I carried myself but I do really regret being with Matthew. I think I would have been better off going home – but I ran with my feelings, so it is what it is!"

Despite not finding love in the MAFS experiment Whitney and April have remained firm pals and become regulars on the celebrity circuit.
