Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You Jumps To No. 1 On Billboard Global 200
Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has reached the top of Billboard‘s Global 200 songs chart dated December 10.
The Christmas carol rules the chart for the ninth week in its more than two-year history.
The Global 200 chart ranks songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate.
The song leaped to the top from No. 5 with 64.5 million streams and 8,000 sold worldwide in the November 25-December 1 tracking week.
The song last week topped all the Holiday 100 component charts and Billboard‘s Greatest of All Time Holiday 100 Songs chart.
A track from Carey’s 1994 album Merry Christmas, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is an up-tempo love song that includes bell chimes, backing vocals and synthesizers. The song has become a Christmas standard and continues to surge in popularity each holiday season.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” claiming the top spot on Global 200 pushes Taylor Swift‘s “Anti-Hero” down to No. 3. Sam Smith and Kim Petras‘ “Unholy” holds at No. 2.
